As my first = man, it is your responsibility to finalize the company's paperwork! [Enter Tetsuo, Lendo's little brother.] Testuo: Merry Christmas all! Ranma: Hey Tetsuo. How's things? Tetsuo: Not bad. I'm flying home for the holidays. You coming Lendo? Lendo: No. I have work to do. Tetsuo: Lendo, be reasonable! It's Christmas Eve! Lendo: And your point is? Tetsuo: Why do I bother? Cut to the Saotome apartment where they and the Shields' are preparing for dinner.] Serena: This was really nice of you Ranma. Ranma: Think nothing of it. Akane: Too bad Darien isn't here yet. Serena: Yeah... He'll be here soon. [Ranma goes and takes Renie into the living room and sets her up to play Sega Dreamcast. Ranma looks over and watches.] Ranma: At least someone here is happy. Serena: Yes, I'm glad she is. I just wish that we could get her good = things like that. How are you able to live like this? Akane: We have a little nest egg and our parents back in Tokyo are = sending us little money every so often. Ranma: Yup. I wonder if I'll have memories like this about my kids. Blasted satellite dish. [As Lendo changes channel again, it goes static.] Lendo: (annoyed) Now what! Voice: Now this. Lendo: Huh? [A long leg sticks out of the screen. W-w-what are you doing, coming out of my = TV set? S. Pluto: (coy smile) Silly boy... [Pluto walks over to Lendo and runs her hand across his face. He then drools more, trying to kiss her hand. Pan into that hole made by Lendo to = see Pluto, lounging in his chair.] S. Pluto: Thanks Dwayne. (clicks off TV) Now that he's done that for = me... (pulls out a list) Now of to Greenwich for a Mr. Hunter Hearst Hemsley... I do believe this will get Dwayne a title shot at Wrestlemania 2000... [Pluto takes her *Time Staff, and gets up and disappears.] *Author's Note: That last scene was dedicated to The Coffee, the most electrifying person in IRC entertainment. And do you think that Pluto = would use her real staff on him? Back to the special. :) [Fade in, to Lendo's master bedroom. We see Lendo sleep in PJ's with = dollar bills all over them. The door to his room opens. We see a cute blonde = in a senshi suit walk in. She lenas over to Lendo's ear.] Blonde: Walk up Lendo dah-ling... [Lendo wakes up to see Sailor Venus with a smile.] Lendo: Now that's a dream come true! S. Venus: Now, now, get them bad thoughts outta here! (laughs and slaps = him hard) Lendo: Ow... S. Venus: We got work to do Lendo. We're going back to Kamakura. Lendo: Why and who are you? S. Venus: Oh to spend Christmas with your family, and I'm the Senshi of Christmas Past. Lendo: Do I have to? S. Venus: Yup. [We see one of Sailor Pluto's time portals appear. Venus grabs Lendo by = the arm, pulling him in. The portal reopens to the Rivalson's living room. = We see Chibi Lendo, Chibi Tetsuo, and Lendo's mother. Venus and Lendo = appear near the tree.] S. Venus: This is one week before Christmas, six years prior. Lendo: I Remember! (hits fist into open hand) Yeah, this was before... (Lendo shifts around, then says nothing) S. Venus: Before what? Lendo: Nothing... [The camera slowly pans to the Rivalson family.] Lendo's mother: Good job on the tree boys. Chibi-Lendo: Mamma, can you put the star on? Lendo's mother: (smiling) I'll try. [Lendo's mother climbs a small stepladder, and places the star on. It shines brightly, then goes off, along with all the lights on the tree. After a few minutes, the all the lights come back on.] Chibi Tetsuo: Aah! Bad omen! Chibi Lendo: Chill Teddy, everything is ok! Right mamma? [Lendo's mother steps down and looks at her kids.] Lendo's mother: Yeah, everythign is A-OK. Now, how about a little = holiday shopping, ne? Chibi Lendo: Is father coming with us? Lendo's M: I'll try. Now go get in the car. [Chibi Tetsuo runs to the car. Chibi Lendo stays behind, hiding by the wall. He hears his parents screaming about the fact that Kenjo spends = most of his time at work. She slams the phone down, Chibi Lendo scrambles to = the car. His mother gets in and they drive off.] Lendo: (near whisper) That's was the last time I saw her at home... S. Venus: What was that? Lendo: My mother got sick, but I didn't know until it was too late. I believed it was my father fault for not being home. S. Venus: What's this? Lendo Rivalson showing a soft side? Lendo: Huh? (recomposes himself) Soft side? Yeah, right! Let's go. [The background fades out, but Venus and Lendo stay onscreen. A new = screen fades in. Chibi Tetsuo is found crying, sitting in a chair across from = a room in a hospital. Then Chibi Lendo runs in at a high speed. He stops = to see his little brother crying.] Chibi Lendo: Where's father! Chibi Tetsuo: (looking up in tears) ..... C. Lendo: (grimaces) Father... [C. Lendo walks into the room. There are several doctors there. Lendo pushes past them. He see his mother, looking very weak. Lendo looks = on, not flinching.] C. Lendo: Mamma... Lendo's M: (turning her head slightly) Lendo... Lendo's M: Your father dishonored himself... Tell Kuma... [Lendo's mother closes her eyes for the last time. Lendo screams = "mother" at the top of his lungs. He is pushed out of the way by doctors. Lendo steps back into someone. He looks up to see his older brother Kuma.] Kuma: Lendo... I'm sorry. C. Lendo: It's ok... First you, now me... Father can't keep doing = this... Kuma: It's not worth it! It's hard now, that I know... It just takes = time... [Kuma hugs his little brohter, pan around to Lendo. He sheds a tear. = The image then fades out, Venus and Lendo floating there.] Lendo: That was Christmas Day... S. Venus: That was so sad... It's going to be painful, but are you ready = to return? Lendo: Yes, I've seen enough. [Sailor Venus walks over to Lendo, smiles, then plants a wet one on his lips! He then suddenly wakes up in his bed.] Lendo: It was so real... I gotta get some grub now... [Lendo throws his robe on and walks out his room... His nostrils perk up = as he smells something delicious from below.] Lendo: What is that aroma... [Lendo goes downstairs into the kitchen. He sees a woman wearin an = outfit simular to Kasumi Tendo's. She hums a tune, then turns around to face Lendo.] Lendo: (shock) Mother?! Woman: Dinner will be ready soon Lendo... Lendo: I must be seeing things... Woman: You are. Lendo: WHAT!!!!! [Lendo rubs his eyes to see Sailor Jupiter dressed in that outfit, = cooking.] S. Jupiter: Welcome Lendo, I've been waiting for you... Have a seat. = You can't leave on an empty stomach. Lendo: (sits down and eats) Now this is home cooking... (raises an = eyebrow) Where are we going exactly? S. Jupiter: (cleaning up dishes and pots) To see your most valued employee... Darien Shields! Lendo: Ah... (chokes) Shields! Him! Valued! Pfft! S. Jupiter: You just remember that while your eating! You'll enjoy your dessert soon enough... [Lendo shrugs it off and finishes. Sailor Jupiter pulls off her dress = to reveal her senshi fuku.] Lendo: (eyes going up and down her legs) Wow... And I thought that other girl had nice legs, but you take the cake! S. Jupiter: Normally I'd take that as a compliment or pound your face in = you hentai... (she socks him in the face anyway) But we have = more important things to do. Lendo: And who might you be? S. Jupiter: (smiling) Why the Senshi of Christmas Present of course! [Another time portal opens. Jupiter and Lendo go through. They find themselves at the Saotome's for a party. Some of the Ranma 1/2 cast is there, along with other noted names in anime, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, = Teenchi and company, Shinji Ikari, Madoka and Kyosuke, Lina Inverse... Well ya = know.] Lendo: What's the purpose of this?! S. Jupiter: As you can see, everyone is having a fun time here. Look at that. Even your brother is here! Lendo: Him too? I thought he went home. [Pan in to see Tetsuo dancing with Sammi.] Sammi: So what happened? Tetsuo: Father too busy with R.N.C. and Kuma is enjoying himself with = the Ichinoheis. I'm better here. I'll prolly go home for New Year's. Lendo: I don't see my quote, unquote "MVP" Shields here. S. Jupiter: (thins eyes, looks at Lendo) That's cuz he has something = better to do. Lendo: Yeah, and what's that?! [Jupiter snaps her fingers and the scene shifts and sways into a small bedroom. We see Darien reading a bedtime story to Renie, Serena by the doorway. Renie is in bed trying to sleep, unable to.] Lendo: What's this? S. Jupiter: Can you understand now? Sure you pay him well, but most of = his money goes to pay for Renie's several doctors visits and operations. Lendo: What about the damn medical benefits I give him and everyone = else! S. Jupiter: (holding up a brochure) You mean the R.N.C. Medical Program? (throws it down, steps on it) It's not worth the paper it's written on! Lendo: (snickering) Well I could've told ya that. S. Jupiter: (slaps Lendo hard) You're so thoughtless! That plan only = works [Lendo ponders that thought and slap. He's startled by severe wheezing = and coughing from Renie. Serena runs out to a phone, and a few minutes = later EMTs come in and take the child out. Lendo watches from outside the = house.] Lendo: Spirit... What's wrong with her? S. Jupiter: She was born with a weak kidneys and immune system. Doctors = say that she won't make it past twelve. Lendo: H-h-how old is she now? S. Jupiter: (looking at the leaving ambulance) Ten. But in the past = weeks, her condition has been getting worse. Lendo: I didn't know... S. Jupiter: Of course you wouldn't know! You're too busy with your = profits to know about the well-being of your workers! Lendo: (near whisper) I'm sorry Renie... I didn't know... S. Jupiter: (pulls out a baked good) Would you care for dessert, humble = pie? Lendo: (thins eyes) Not funny at all senshi. [Another time vortex opens, sucking only Lendo in. The portal reopens = and drops him right onto his bed, face first. He then opens his eyes and = turn over.] Lendo: Was that another dream?! That was too intense... [Lendo falls back asleep again. [The hooded senshi taps her staff and another time portal opens up. = Lendo and the hooded senshi go through to come out onto the street.] Lendo: What this? The future? Are the Senshi of Christmas Future? SCF: (nodding) ... Lendo: Don't look like much changed. [And adult Sammi walks past to a building wearing a business dress. = Lendo=20 looks on.] Lendo: I see she's showing her curvy sides now. (smiling) I wonder what happened to the Sakura Inn? [SCF points to a building. Lendo walks over to see the place condemned = and looks like it's about to fall apart.] Lendo: My god... (looking around) Things have changed! [Tetsuo walks past him into a giant building. Lendo looks up, it's the R.N.C. corporate building. Lendo runs in and follows Tetsuo to his = desk. Tetsuo sits down and Ranma walks in, casually dressed.] Ranma: Morning Tetsuo. Tetsuo: (opening newspaper) Any new words? Ranma: No... I hate to say it, but Darien is gone. From my sources, he never returned to Minato-ku. Tetsuo: This'll hurt Serena much more... Lendo: (thinking) What happened To Shields?! What about his kid? His = wife? They're in the Saotome's living room. = Akane comes in, holding a young child. She sets him down to play. Akane sits = on the couch, holding the hand of a weakened and depressed Serena talking = to her.] Lendo: (shocked) My god... Serena... (turns) Senshi please... I've seen enough... No more... [The Senshi snaps her fingers again. They're in a graveyard on the outskirts of town.] Lendo: Why am I here? I asked not to see more... [Lendo steps back, tripping on a tombstone, falling backwards.] Lendo: Ow... (turns over and reads it) Renie Shields... (blink) No... = (soft voice) No... (screaming) NOOOOOOO!!!!! [Lendo walks in to find one metal casket. He looks at it as the Senshi appear next to him. She opens the metal casket and the wooden one to = reveal Lendo's body.] Lendo: I'm dead... I look good, but I'm dead! Offside voice: Damn right you are! [Lendo turns around to see that she removed her hood.] S. Mars: Sailor Mars, Senshi of Christmas Future buddy boy! Can't you = see=20 what your selfish ways caused! Lendo: Yes I do... S. Mars: (points scythe to Lendo's neck) No you don't! you don't even = know=20 what happened! You mysteriously disappered! Darien went off and=20 killed himself! Lendo: How so? S. Mars: After that vision, Renie went into a coma, eventually she died. = =20 And that caused the Saotome's to have a hatrid for you... The death=20 of little Renie, sent Serena into a permanent depression. If it=20 wasn't for Akane, she would be dead! Lendo: I didn't think- S. Mars: Damn right you didn't think! Ranma tried his best to help=20 Darien... But it wasn't enough. One night he left. And he=20 committed sepuuku. Lendo: ... S. Mars: And since you gave him so much work to do, he didn't have = enough=20 time to bea husband... Or a father... Lendo: I know, I'm sorry. I'll change... I promise I will. S. [Fade out. Fade into the Sheilds' living room. The Saotomes are there = too exchanging gifts. Darien comes down the stairs dressed.] Darien: I'll get back as soon as I can. (door knocking) I wonder who = that is? Ranma: I'll get it. [Ranma opens the door. Lendo is ther with gifts, witha small smile.] Ranma: Rivalson... (thins eyes) What the hell are you doing here? Lendo: Cool your jets Saotome. I'm here to see Shields. Darien: Lendo?! I was on my way- Lendo: (waves hand) Not today. Take today off, and up to the 30th. Darien: Why? What gives? Lendo: (going into the living room) Changes. Big changes. (puts gifts = down) Effective January 3, 2000, you and Saotome are now Executive VP = in charge of Sales and Development respectively. Darien: I don't know what to say? Lendo: Plus I'm raising all benefits, (pointing to Lendo) especially = yours. Your daughter Renie will have the best in doctors, I promise you! Akane: Okay Lendo, what's the catch?! Lendo: No catch Akane. I promise. [Lendo places the gifts around the tree. He pulls out out a candy cane = and walks over to Renie.] Lendo: Here you go little one. I promise things'll be different. Renie: You're my daddy's boss right? Lendo: (laughs) Not boss... A friend. Renie: (opens and licks it) Kamisama bless us all everyone. [Lendo walks over to Darien, pulling him to the side, along with Ranma.] Ranma: Are you serious about this? Lendo: Yes, and I'm sorry Shields... Er uhm, Darien. It's just that my mother died six years ago around this time, and I tried to push = that=20 away from my mind... I didn't want to end up like my father... = But I=20 did. Darien: I understand but you didn't have to- Lendo: (raises hand) I know, I know. Things are different now.
