Message-ID: <92133.102127JLM@SLACVM.SLAC.STANFORD.EDU> Date: 12 May 92 18:21:27 GMT There is a small commotion outside the Dragons-Inn. Then, the door to the place opens and two strange strangers walk in. The first is very tall (6'6" - 6'8") and wears a dark brown hooded robe that has seen much travel. The hood successfuly covers the stranger's face. The second is a small (5'5") birdman. His only attire is the belt around his waist from which several pouches hang and the gnarled walking stick in his right hand. Perched on his shoulder is a small, winged lizard. Without paying any attention to those already in the place, the two strangers head directly for the bar. The tall stranger speaks... "Bar keeper, my friend and I have travelled far. We are hungry and thirsty. Bring us the best drink in the house, a chunk of raw meat for me and fruit and grubs for my friend." As he speaks, a furry, clawed paw appears from underneath the robe, quickly deposits a handful of gold coins on the counter and quickly withdraws under the robe. The two strangers turn and look around. Seeing that all the corner tables have already been taken, they head towards the one that is occupied by a very small fellow. As they walk past the other tables, the winged lizard turns its head this way and that way, sniffing the occupants. When they reach the table with the small man, the tall stranger growls... "You don't mind if we share this table with you." And without waiting for a response, the tall stranger sits down. The birdman ruffles his feathers shaking the dust off of them, then sits right across from him and smiling to the small fellow says... "My name is Karmak and that's Loe. We'd like to show you our appreciation for sharing your table with us. May we buy you a drink or two ?" The winged lizard looks at the small person, and sniffs him. --Out of the Darkness, two came out alive-- Long live the Fellowship of the Pentagram ! Long live Nimhrad !
