Something in the back of his mind stirs to life. Some half-forgotten non-memories involving murder, clues, and flat feet. "Why," he thinks, "does this human seem familiar? Could he have been sent here from another rhelm by magic I know nothing of?" He sudders in rememberance of how closely he himself came to being teleported off this world. He decides to take pity of this stranger. "Sorry, sirrah, your mediums of exchange are strange here. I have no use for a Dala, or whatever you called it." He reaches into his jerkin and opens the pouch he stashed there, looking about the room for the location of the other halfling who had been eyeing the patrons for an easy mark. He removes a single red glass-like stone. "Here is a ruby, surrah. Accept it with my compliments. It should be enough to give you food and shelter for the night." Craig E.
