What had sent our barmaid out into the morning air (before our
last
journal installment? forgive me for the oversight) Virgolt, as
he
received his drink and exchanges words with Serene, laid his hand
carefully on her auburn hair. She gripped the table for
stability as a
cool white nimbus surrounded the pair, and pale grief clouded her
eyes.
she held Virgolt's hand imploringly, silently, as the glow
faded, and
when she could again stand, rushed out into the predawn seeking
solace
in the out-of-doors.
