That wierd noise was just that - noise. I think I just swallowed one of my feathers. Feathers? Hmm - - I believe I just beat my previous record for shapeshifting into eagle form. If I could only do it that quickly deliberately..." He suddenly starts, and looks guardedly at Corwin. "I hope you don't have a problem with shapeshift, or with magic in general." "Hmm - I suppose he wouldn't be in this inn if he did..." "Do you have the ability, yourself? Magic use, I mean." > "Quite alright, friend? I have more than enough to spare. Barkeep, >another pitcher of your local and bring a glass for my friend here." "Thank you, I never can seem to keep unattached metal items upon my person while shifted. I... The ring! I just put it in my pouch before entering the inn - it must be somewhere in this room!" Looks frantically around the room, and suddenly realising that by himself he'll never find it in this huge place. "So many corners! Argh! What will I do?" Stands up on his chair, and announces in his high-pitched but loud voice "Attention, I have just lost a ring somewhere in this room. I expect it to be lying on the floor somewhere. It's just a plain silver unadorned ring with 'Nesemiil' engraved inside the band. Not magical or anything, just a simple rounded silver band." He sits back down, saying (with a wry smile) "I live in hope. Where was I?" > "As to my tale, it tis not much to speak of and for my less than gallent >entrance. I have no memories beyond 5 months just gone. I'm travelling in search of someone who will know me, and help me to remember. No mind-bender or mage I have yet encountered has been able to cure me of my ailment. I could tell you my tales of recent travels, but I have encountered nothing remarkable. Just tales of a short experience, in a search for a goal worthy only to its lone seeker." His brow furrows in concentration. "Gah! It's hopeless!" He slumps in defeat, raising his tankard in an ironic toast: "To fond memories", then takes a huge swallow of the fine brew. "I come from somwhere around here, I expect, but I can't really say for sure. I, in addition to the wonderfully controlled display of morphic occultism put on by me earlier, can also heal wounds of various types by mundane and mystic means. Doctor, heal thyself! ..." (trails off into incoherent mumbling). "You mentioned Avalon - I seem .. just ... maybe ... to have heard of it. Far away? Through ... ? It seems it should be known to me ... ungh! At this moment I would surely trade my brain with that of any! Pray tell more, for I am certain there is some piece of knowledge locked from me." -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy D Little a.k.a. u894793@bruny.cc.utas.edu.au "I'm a Tasmanian." - Yahoo Serious, in the film Young Einstein. ---------------------------------------------------------------
