Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn From: dementia@cheshire.oxy.edu (Daniel Steven Reinker) Subject: Dougl's kidnapping Message-ID: <1992May26.212112.12089@cheshire.oxy.edu> Date: Tue, 26 May 1992 21:21:12 GMT Involved: all those with Dougl's kidnapping, ESPECIALLY Rhoan Pathfinder The man that had come to be called 'The Scorpion' in Low town, enters a dank and dark room, hidden deep within the back alleys of low town. The four others in the room look at him as he enters. The man sitting at the table says "You failed to eliminate the Draga." It is not a question, but a statement. "He had help." says the Scorpion. "I'm afraid that our slave-trader friends have kidnapped the wrong boy this time. This was not some street urchin, this was Karl the quartermaster's boy, and it seems he had some very powerful friends. Even now, they comb the city for him." Scorpion turns to the man at the table, the man dressed in dark black, with an eye tatooed on his forehead. "Isn't that right, Seer?" The man called Seer nods. "Yes. Even now, I see the Draga, the warrior who rescued him, and a ranger upon a horse closing upon the slave cart with Dougl inside it. They follow a sea-bird who is actually another powerful being, who soars above them and watches. Meanwhile, others work more indirectly to seek him." Scorpion nods. "It's as I thought. We must eliminate these warriors, once and for all. We must satisfy our contract with those slave traders. Our reputation is at stake." A man hisses from the shadows, and a close look at this man shows he is not a man after all, but some form of snake creature. His arms seem to elongate at will, and his reptilian face sneers at Scorpion. "I think you are more interested in petty revenge than our reputation. You want revenge upon that Draga and the warrior who saved him." "Yes." says another man. This man is incredibly huge, and it is obvious just from looking at him that his strength is superhuman. "We didn't agree to battle creatures as powerful as these. I say, let the slavers take care of themselves. The Wasters have better things to do." "Oh?" asks Scorpion, and his eyes glitter. 'Even when one of them is our friend Sgt. Kron?" The huge man roars. "Kron?!? He must pay for what he did to my brother! Let us destroy the dog!" The man hits the table in his rage, and it shatters. "What do you propose?" asks Seer. "Kron is beyond us; he is in the fortress of Cleft the Fence." Scorpion growls. "Then let us go after the Ranger on the horse. Blink can teleport me, Slythe, and Thugg in." He grins, showing sharpened teeth. "We'll take him out." He laughs. (ADMIN: Ok, these our five baddies for us to deal with. Scorpion, Blink, Seer, Slythe, and Thugg. Scorpion can shoot energy bursts from his hands, Blink can teleport, Seer can see where everyone else is, Slythe can stretch his arms, and Thugg is just really strong. These are open characters to use wherever, just don't kill them please. They can be thrashed soundly, but Blink will always arrive in the nick of time to save them. Have fun!)
