Further advice on how to construct a character

The Dragons-Inn is located in a fantasy setting, although science-fiction
characters are (and have been) welcome.

>1) Choose a character name (ever played an frp? Then you know what is a
>"character") that is not already chosen by anybody else.

Sound advice. I would add that if you choose a short, easily spelled
name, other bar patrons are more likely to talk to you.

>2) Create the character to be unique and original.

The key words are UNIQUE and INDIVIDUAL!!! In the first few days, so
many posters created chiched Dark Shadowy Character in a Dark Cloak
Sitting with his Back to the Wall that the inside joke of the eighteen-
cornered inn started. Stereotypes aren't much fun to roleplay.

>3) Pretend you are this character and enters the dragons-inn, presenting
>yourself ("A new character enters!").

Read other people's posts and see how others have accomplished this. Often,
people come in and "recognize" a patron already in the bar, jumping
right into a conversation.

>4) Start to interact with the other characters.

See the new "Dougl Slave Chase" thread.

>5) Have fun!
No argument here!
