From: andrea@cm.deakin.OZ.AU (Andrea Todkill) Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn Subject: Kadrys is surprised by Zia, and unimpressed by Celestarion. Message-ID: <3222@sol.deakin.OZ.AU> Date: 26 May 92 23:36:07 GMT Zia walks back to Kadrys' table from where Drax disappeared, looking suprisingly cheerful, she has a lopsided grin on her face, and a slightly embarassed flush, like she had just seen someone invovled in a personal moment. Kadrys takes in Zia's expression, smiling a little at it, fractionally shaking his head. "Astonishing..." he murmurs softly. "Just when I've survived long enough to think I've seen every human reaction possible, you still manage to amaze me at every turn." At that moment, Celestarion enters, imposing a silence spell on the bar. Zia looks around at the mage, and laughs, despite the silence, which is the first actual vocal noise the (live) denizens of the Pub have heard from her. She looks Celestarion up and down before bursting out laughing again... Kadrys grins gleefully at Zia's reaction. His eyes glitter with real amusement. "Trust me lady, when I tell you that pretention is one of two things that I loathe." the mage replied softly. A sharp, cynical smile lifts a corner of Kadrys' mouth, and he turns his eyes for a moment to the wizard. His expression says almost as plainly as words 'How you must despise yourself then...' Then he shrugs slightly and mutters "Still, I suppose I should thank you for that 'silence' spell. It made it possible for me to hear something I never thought I would." A man named Turgon, walked over to Zia,sat down beside her, with a look of concern on his face, and said quietly, "Lady, that was unwise of you at best..." Kadrys turns his attention to Turgon, and he gives him a deliberately casual smile. "The lady is far wiser than your concern shows you to be." Kadrys says calmly. "She is not without friends." Kadrys gestures around the Inn, inviting the new arrival to take stock of the multitude of powerful beings present.
