CM: Karl, Kron, Dougl, Creft the Fence, ...sage's servant

>After what seems like hours of moving through the dark tunnel (Karl had the
>foresight to grab a candle from Creft's Parlor) the group emerges into a
>storm drain behind a battered inn near the edge of the Low City. Our
>heroes, and one Villain, waste no time leaving that thieve's den for safer
>pastures. Once they are back on turf controlled by the Watch, Kron is
>finally able to relax. He stops in a nearby alley and shakes Creft. "Now
>then, you, tell us everything you know about Rameshander slavers. And don't
>even THINK about lying......."

"I...aah...let go of my damned neck, you fool!" Creft gasps as Kron slightly
loosens his grip. "GAAaah! What Rameshanders?"

Karl scowls at Creft very, very grimly. He produces a short but very sharp
knife from a pouch by his beltside and holds it an inch from Creft's eyes.

"Those Rameshanders?" Creft finds his tongue and loses his bowel control.
"They're running a grab and sell operation up and down the coast. They
shanghai people on the streets at night, drug them, and ship them to the
slave markets at Orluccar in Rameshan or Vedrain in Varande. We get six
and a half percent of the profits from within Generica. But they're gone!"

The enchanted servant speaks, "They are not gone. I- my master- see grey
cloaked men on the docks. And there are more to their east, awaiting the
adventurers who left the inn. They are carrying man-sized bundles into
a ship."

"A ship? What ship, Creft?" Kron tightens his grip again. Veins start to
stand out on Creft's brow.

"The _Broadmarch_, damn you! They'll be leaving far within the hour! You'll
never catch them in time!"

"Quickly!" Karl called as he began to hobble away, supported by the servant.
But Kron was faced with a dilemma: he could not simply let one of Generica's
most notorious crime-lords go free once he had him in custody, but he would
surely miss the _Broadmarch_ if he had to drag Creft with him across the
entire city. And there were no other guardsmen in the Low City, as per
Kron's own orders...
