Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn From: Ari.Huttunen@hut.fi (Ari Juhani Huttunen) Subject: Maud [Harbour]: boards Broadmarch Message-ID: Date: Wed, 27 May 1992 23:43:11 GMT (Characters involved: all those chasing kidnappers) Maud is running frantically along the Gap, trying to reach Low Town and Dougl's kidnappers. Unfortunately he got lost. The corridor begins to rise steadily, though, and seeing light ahead Maud turns off the lantern and slows down to a brisk walk. The corridor soon ends and there is a metal grating above. Maud raises it and takes a look outside. "Hmm... This sure isn't Low Town. I bet this is sea air. In fact, it reminds me of the time I was sailing the Seven Seas with Captain Picardix and his crew. But that was a long time ago, and WHAT'S THAT?" Two Rameshanders come along the street carrying a large carpet. Nothing interesting in itself, but this carpet happens to be wiggling like a fish in a hook. The kidnappers! They carry the carpet to Broadmarch, a large ship with three masts. A brave adventurerer would at this point storm the ship (alone if necessary), but being only a tourist Maud has no such ideas. An alternative plan must be found. And quickly because the ship seems to be leaving in a moment. Maud steps up from the Gap. The guard standing on the bridge leading to the ship has little hope of seeing Maud in this light and because Maud is wearing that cloak of invisibility. On the other hand, Maud has no possibility to walk across that bridge and through the guard. But the ship hasn't departed yet and there are many ropes still attached to the poles on the wharf. Trying to remember the lessons master thief Karidon taught him when he was little, Maud climbs the rope. When he gets on board he hides in a life raft. The ship seems to be heavily armed, judging by the heavy guns on the sides. Furthermore, it is about to leave... ADMIN: Actually it left already, but you produce new events so fast I couldn't keep up with them. -- ...............................................................................
