From: andsol@arcadien.owlnet.rice.edu (Andrew J. The boat moves far too slowly for Kron's comfort, but they are moving at least, and that is something. Kron stares out at their adversary, noting the damage to the mainsail, and not for the first nor last time thanks ...sage for his assistance. Kron begins his standard exercises for battle -- deep breaths, concentration focussed to a point, sword at ready -- lunge! Out of the corner of his eye, Kron sees Karl standing at the bow of the boat, staring at their quarry as if his eyes could squeeze a few more knots out of the shipping vessel. On the port side, Meshtak seems to be having difficulty with his lunch. And out to sea, something funny is happening... It appears that the _Narwhal_ is coming about. Of course -- they will attack from the far side, while *Morning Breeze* boards from the near end! If the timing is correct, the slavers will not be able to repel all boarders. Whoever is in command of the naval vessel must have a canny military mind. Abruptly, three figures shimmer into existance on the deck of the enemy ship. It's too far to be sure, but Kron thinks that two of them are Tvarne and Rhoan Pathkeeper! Could that third figure be ...sage? Kron does not know, never having set eyes on the mage before. While he is thinking about the enemy boat, Kron realizes that they have a problem -- this peaceful vessel they are on has no boarding cables. Even if the expert Captain can pull them right alongside the _Broadmarch_ without wrecking his ship, the treacherous gap between the ships will claim the lives of any boarders who mistime the jump. As the boats pull within bowshot and a few stray arrows begin winging toward the *Morning Breeze*, Kron spots something toward the forward deck that would solve that problem. He moves to the object and motions Meshtak to join him.
