Message-ID: Date: Thu, 28 May 1992 13:26:34 GMT Seeing the response from several interested people, the Old Man says, "Very Well,I shall tell you my story ",he coughs once or twice "I was born in the city of Briendall many years ago.As a young man I was a soldier in the Armies of the Templars.I fought long and hard with my comrades against the impending doom of evil in my world, but it was to no avail.Eventually,we were routed and we had to flee for our lives. It was during this time that The Drow Elves captured myself and many of my comrades. We were taken to places far beneath the Earth, and so horrible that I dare not mention them openly. However, while I was there in torment,I chanced to find a Blue Jewelled ring.Thinking nothing of it at the time,I decided to try and escape. The Drow had been planning our deaths in a horroble manner. In desperation,at the final hour,I prayed to the Old Gods for salvation. Then, when I awoke, I found myself in a strange Tower with a feeling of horror in my Heart. I saw the Ring was on my finger, and it glowed a bright Blue. I Since discovered that it was an object o fell power, not meant for Mortals to hold.Certainly I could not utilise it's powers, but in the Hands of another, more magically skilled, who knows.I decided that I should guard it with my life. Then, after years of travel,I arrived in the splendid city of Generica, only to find the Ring gone. I am old,and I cannot chase it anymore, but I need someone to find it and,if they can destroy it then do so-" Suddenly, the old man stops, his eyes wide open,he says "No," in a whispered voice before collapsing. A few moments later, one person from the inn, goes over to him,and places his hands on his neck. "He's dead ," he says, and closes the man's eyes. -- ]]>>>Mithrandir<<<[[ ]]>>tkelly@unix2.tcd.ie<<[[ "In the uttermost West I was Olorin,In the South I am Incanus, among the elves I am Mithrandir,in the North I am Gandalf.
