Subject: Another New Character enters...

The door of the Dragon opens and a flamboyant man walks in.  He is under
six foot tall and bald as a coot.  His red and blue clothes are bright
to the point to bad taste - and beyond!. (Say, didn't you see him hanging 
around outside a while ago?)  He walks boldly to the bar and orders a
mug of ale.  His voice is lilting and musical.  The barman takes a
tankard and, having filled it, returns to his customer.  The new arrival
pulls three coins from a pouch at his belt and juggles them briefly
before paying the startled landlord.

In a hushed voice the customer talks briefly to the landlord.  The
publican smiles and nods.  More coins change hands.  The man now turns
to the assembled room.  He claps twice to gain the attention of the
customers, then he speaks:

"I come with tales and rhymes of old,
 With jokes and tales ne'er yet told.
 A humble traveller from afar,
 A man oft' found in inn and bar.

 Thognil's, my name, and when time is right,
 I'll tell thee a tale from time out of sight."

Thognil nods to the company and heads to a small unoccupied table near
one corner of the inn.  For now he just drinks and watches the company, a 
splash of bright colour in the smoky inn.
