Silken turned again, and saw several events happen at once.
There was Dougl and two others he didn't recognise, apparently
escaping. Also,he saw the main mast falling.
Then he paused for a second, what the hell was that smell, parafin?
He moved quickly, knowing exactly what was about to happen. In the corner
of his eye,he saw Rhoan diving off the ship.
Iglyarch, thought Silken to himself, and then he spotted the Mage
looking at the scene below with a fairly detached interest level.
  You're gonna pay for what you've done,mage,thought Silken grimly,,and
he looked at his ring.

*************************************************************************

Iglyarch stood on the deck, looking at the milling escapess. He was
mildly disappointed to see most of the assailants escaping. There went
Rhoan, and Karl and that blasted boy,Dougl,to name but a few.
"Oh well",he said to himself in a disappointed voice,"time to go I
suppose."

"Not so fast, mage," said a soft Elven Voice behind him.
Iglyarch whirled about as fast as possible,
  "Silken!",he hissed.
"Yes ",said Silken,"Did you honestly tthink you could get rid of me
quite so easily. It's time to die."

With that,Iglyarch instantly tried to cast a spell, but Silken was
quicker.Diving down,Silken thrust Nighthawk,his magical blade at
Iglyarch. The mage dived out of the way,but his spell was disrupted.
Silken whirled quickly, and caught Iglyarch squarely in the face with a
roundhouse kick. The mage was sprawled flat on his face.
Iglyarch was momentarily stunned, but recovered quickly, and pointed a
finger at Silken.Lightning streamed from his hand and struck Silken in
the chest. The Elf was physically thrown back.NightHawk flew from his
hand,and he was dazed.
 Iglyarch,seeing his advantage,stood up and began casting a spell.Silken
saw him stand and begin to wave his hands,he knew that he had only
seconds to act, moments to live.Shaking his head, the elf looked at
Iglyarch, lost as he was in concentration.A ball of energy was forming on
one of the mages hands.
Silken concentrated for a moment.Thinkstrike,he thought to himself, and
in his minds eye,a ball of dazzling energy formed. It sapped at his
willpower,but he thought to himself,
  I... must ... control.
  I must control.

Suddenly he released the Ball of mental energy, invisible to normal
eyes.Iglyarch screamed,as the energy invaded his mind.Silken kept the
pressure on,and Iglarch was thrown by the sheer force of the blast a
good 20 feet.He was unconscious.Silken,turned,weak but determined,and
shouted "NIGHTHAWK!"
The sword instantly flew to his hand.
Now Iglyarch, petty mage,it is time to die.
He advanced slowly on the body, when suddenly,a shimmmering force
appeared beside Iglyarch. Not wasting any time,Silken dove with his
sword at the force. The sword pierced the side of a man.
  Blink!
He reached down to Iglyarch, despite the wound, and both vanished again.

  Curse you Blink.
Suddenly, there was a massive explosion from the bowels of the ship.
Silken was thrown off his feet, but he rolled,,and came up
running.Seeing the Morning's Breeze just ahead, he judged the divve too
far.He would have to teleport again but it might destroy the Ring of
teleportation. He would have to take the chance.
Silken's body began to shimmer out of existence, but was wavering,he
concentrated on puttting some of his mental energy towards assisting the
teleportation.
The Clash of Magic and psionics in his mind produced a storm in his
head.He could die.
With only an instant to act,he commanded the ring to bend to his
will, with all of his remaining willpower, and lo! It held.

Silken's body appeared on the Morning's Breeze. He opened an eye.

  He smiled,exhausted,but alive.
