Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn From: andsol@arcadien.owlnet.rice.edu (Andrew J. Solberg) Subject: Kron: [Inn]: It's A Fair Cop Message-ID: <1992Jun3.003420.18922@rice.edu> Keywords: Kron, Creft, Panarchus, murder, frame Date: Wed, 3 Jun 1992 00:34:20 GMT Strong arms grab Kron from both sides. The guardsmen hold him firmly as Panarchus approaches from the area of the bar. "Sergeant Kron, you are hereby charged with the murder of the man known as Creft the Fence," he says intently. "You will now come with us to Glorshanned Keep for imprisonment, trial, and punishment....." Behind Panarchus, the crowd looks a little restless. Tvarne demands more details. Thindrangistar and Scar make menacing noises. Meshtak would too, but he appears to have been consumed by a magic idol, and event that occurs with disturbing frequency in this tavern. Captain demands that Kron at least pay him back before he goes to jail. It looks like things could get nasty if something doesn't happen. "HERE NOW, friends!" shouts Kron. "I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for all this! I'll just go with this man down to the Keep, we'll clear up a few details, and I'll be back terribly soon. I'm sure this is just a simple mix-up." To Panarchus: "Sir, you have made one heck of an error here." "I doubt that very much. Guardsmen, the chains." Several men produce irons and securely lock Kron up. The crowd has died down to a dull mutter -- all is still not quite right, but it seems that this is the way things will go. Karl offers Kron an apologetic glance and leaves the inn. Most patrons return to their prior business. "I coulda taken 'em," says one man. "Shaddap, Norm," says his friend from the Guild of Couriers, and the two finish their beers. Panarchus leads a still-bewildered Kron to the tender mercies of the Dungeons of Glorshanned Keep.......... ***************************************************************************** ADMIN: Well, friends, I have to go away for a few days now -- I'm attending a wedding (my own). Hence, Kron will be in gaol until Monday. At that time, he'll be coming out, and he will NOT be happy. Anybody wanna help Kron clear his name? I'll be starting a new thread upon my return, in which Kron hunts down his framers and comes face to face with THINGS TOO TERRIBLE TO CONSIDER... see you all soon! -- Andrew Solberg |"Moving faster than a speeding bullet isn't andsol@owlnet.rice.edu | much use if you and it are headed straight Phone:713-529-8627 | for each other."
