The girl says. there is a slight smile playing across her lips, as she debates whether to ask the next question. She does not ask. If she has learned anything recently, it has been not to askquestions. Serene returns briefly, carrying three soft-furred Carrow leaves, and water-ed down mead. Kyare drinks deeply, and settles further down on her stool. Deftly, Kyare twists the leaves, untill three or four precious drops of amber juice drop into the mead. Kyare dips her fingers into her cup, and massages her temples, and her forehead. she does this twice more, then drinks the rest of the mead. Her facial scars and wounds are almost all gone. "Stupidity is often mistaken for endurance." Kyare says, smiling fully this time. "This time I succumbed to stupidity. I am still stiff. I've been riding hard for what must be days. Will you stay for a glass? I've been without.. company for some time." She looks closely at Scar, trying hard to read him, but she gives up without succeeding. JT Jason W. Tice KS jtice@nero.uvic.ca
