Quickly he squirms over to the edge of the rooftop, careful to avoid the less sturdy areas of the roof, and looks down. Below him, Panarchus is carrying an unconscious- and heavy-looking lizard man over his shoulder. The Guardsman seems unconcerned about all the eyes on him, and Nirvan remembers what he'd heard, that Panarchus was in the employ of Important Persons in Low City. He wondered idly what would happen if it got back to his superiors, but nobody would believe a Low City boy over a Guard anyway. It'd take more than that to topple Panarchus. Nirvan scrambled and slithered along the rooftops of Low City, following Panarchus to his destination. If the Guardsman noticed him, he gave no indication. Most of his attention seemed to be taken up by his load, anyway. Nirvan came to a sudden stop before a rather large-looking gap between buildings. Panarchus was already entering the area, a rather deserted one, as Nirvan recalled. He never saw anyone going into it, apart from a few of the Low City VIPs. He was reluctant to lose his prey, though, in case he could catch Panarchus red-handed in some way. But that next building looked much too far away to jump. He shimmied down the drainpipe, reluctant to lose his height advantage, and peered down after Panarchus. No sign of him--but wasn't that something moving in the shadow over there? And it was getting a bit dark--perhaps he should get to Ratty's a bit early, just in case the black man was early. That'd be a good idea. Nirvan shimmied back up the drainpipe. He felt much safer on the rooftops. He looked across the gap again, and frowned. From the ground, it hadn't looked like a particularly large gap to jump, no farther than the rest. He shrugged. Appearances could be deceiving. He spent no further thought on the matter and started along the docks, skirting almost unconsciously around the area Panarchus had entered. -- ---Alfvaen(a.k.a.
