Subject: [ADMIN] Fight at Ratty's / Fight at Inn

ADMIN:  TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE FIGHTING AND RIOTING

	I have a few suggestions for ways to improve this newsgroup.
My comments are not aimed at anyone in particular, and they are only
my opinions.  Comments are welcomed.

	THE KRON THREAD:  A few weeks ago, Andrew (aka 'Kron') dreamed
up a plotline for a thread.  This was back when the newsgroup was humming
with life -- before many people left for summer break -- and there were 
many conversations and quests being discussed.  So, after setting up some 
background posts to set up the scenario, Andrew had his character Kron enter 
the Dragon's Inn and humbly ask for some help.  He also requested that 
interested parties contact him via email.

	About ten of us did.  And together we hammered out a few details
and began writing articles for the thread.  The City of Generica is so
vast and complex, that the "Help Kron Thread" *could* be transpiring without 
disrupting the equilibrium of either the City or the Dragon's Inn.  The 
rest of you could have continued with your own threads _and_ read along
with Kron and Co.

	Unfortunately, because of summer break, the newsgroup dried up a 
bit at this point.  Several posters who had apparently been trying to
start up quests or conversations just up an disappeared w/o warning 
leaving their audiences high and dry and wishing they were involved with
the Kron Thread.

	So certain imaginative individuals conceived of new plotlines 
which were *linked* to the Kron Thread, which involve mobs rampaging 
through Generica and attacking the Dragon's Inn.  These threads have also 
proved very entertaining.  So what is my point?

	My point is that fun is where you make it.  You can have fun 
anywhere -- inside the pub, outside defending the pub, running through 
the city with the mob, or you can even start up your own plotlines; but
you DON'T HAVE TO RACE ACROSS TOWN AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT AND MOP UP THE
FIGHT AT RATTY'S FOR US.

	My point is that fun is where you make it.  You can have fun 
anywhere -- inside the pub, outside defending the pub, running through 
the city with the mob, or you can even start up your own plotlines.  But
I think I speak for those of us already involved in the Kron Tread when
I say:  You *do not* have to race across town at the speed of light and 
join in the skirmish at Ratty's.  It is already confusing enough, and we
have more things to do after the fight.  So if you were considering doing 
so...please reconsider.

PS:	

       Oh, maybe one more item.  Since his arrival in Generica, my savage
lizardman Thk has slain exactly:

           one (1).........wolfhound of the City Guard  (bitten)
           fourteen (14)...Orc Hounds (electrocuted)

Certain recent posts have described him as laying waste to hordes of simple 
townsfolk!  I deny such slander.  He never has and he never will.  He might 
be running for public office in the future and I don't want any serious black 
marks on his record.
