     "If you will excuse me, I must sleep for an hour or two...the fight
last night and my wounds from the night before have left me tired," Luthor
says while making a respectful elven bow.  'I'm glad that Kadrys
is a good guy,' he thinks to himself.

     Across the room, he spies Serene and he makes his way toward her.
     "Serene, I have been meaning to talk with you.  I must get some
sleep, but I was thinking that you and I should spend this day in the
city seeing its sights and enjoying the sunlight and the fresh air," he
said, instantly regretting his choice of words.  He could almost feel
Kadrys' sadness upon hearing the words "enjoy the sunlight", a pleasure
that the vampire would never feel again.  He just hoped that Kadrys had
not heard him, but it is said that a vampire can hear a man's heartbeat
at 100 yards.
     With a sweeping bow that many human females found flattering, he
took hold of her hand and placed the lightest of kisses upon it.
     "What say you M'Lady, are you interested?" he asked.
