Subject: Kadrys watches happy meetings: Luthor & Serene, and Khisanth & Alaric

Kadrys' eyes, still showing faint traces of a smile at Luthor's courteous
farewell, follow as he moves toward Serene. He hears their conversation without
difficulty. There was no intention to eavesdrop, but they were far too close to
be inaudible. Luthor proposes a walk outside the inn to Serene, but as he uses
the words "enjoying the sunlight", Kadrys notices half-elf's shoulders tighten
momentarily with discomfort. He ponders this. 'He seems to feel some empathy to
others' emotions. The sensitivity appears subtle enough that perhaps he himself
may not be consciously aware of it.' He files this interesting possibility away
in his memory and contemplates his own instinctive flash of regret. 'Yes, I
shall never feel joy in the touch of the sun's light again...' He sighs and
makes an effort to shrug off his sombre mood. 'Still, at least its glare is no
longer lethal to me, and there have always been other pleasures unique to
undeath.' Recent memories restore a touch of his usual quiet grin and he
emerges from his thoughts to look over at Rowan and Khisanth's table. His smile
widens as Khisanth forgets her post-sorcerous weariness to run across the room
into the arms of a newly arrived man. 'Clearly her lost lover. They are lucky
indeed to find each other safe again after such a separation.' He turns a
little in his seat and watches their joyous reunion, wondering silently whether
his own intriguing acquaintance, Zia, will make her way safely back to the Inn.
