Message-ID: <1992Jul7.205701.29597@rice.edu> Date: Tue, 7 Jul 1992 20:57:01 GMT Hi, folks. I have thought up a couple of new services/lists that could be maintained and might be of use to someone. I haven't decided yet whether or not I will implement these ideas since I don't know if anybody is interested. My ideas are: 1) Bestiary of the Known Lands -- A number of new beasties have been introduced through this group. I would like to compile descriptions of them into a list. Since APD-I is system-independent, no stats would be given. Each listing would include the name of the inventor as a reference in case somebody had more questions. 2) Atlas of the Known Lands -- Aaron is doing a great job with the Tourist's Guide, so I think this should remain in his hands, but I believe that the Atlas and the Guide should be two separate lists -- if for no other reason than the fact that both have a lot of potential to grow into very large lists. 3) This Week In Review -- Each thread's weekly progress would be summed up in a paragraph or two. This listing would be particularly useful for those of us who want to keep up-to-date without having time to read absolutely everything. 4) The Bulletin Board -- The Dragon's Inn has a bulletin board where people periodically post things, but after it's posted nobody hears any more about it. This list, reposted each week, would show the current contents of the board. Messages, out of necessity, would be short. 5) The Suggestion Box -- New ideas for group management, places, items, etc. would be reposted in this listing weekly. This way, we get to review some of the good ideas that flash by on the screen but sometimes slip through the cracks. 6) The Alias List -- I already have such a list; it aliases everybody's character names to their addresses. If you want a copy let me know. What do people think about these ideas? Are they useful and interesting, or useless and boring? I will implement any idea that gets a reasonable number of votes of approval. Now then: I DO have a great deal of time on my hands right now, but I'm not volunteering to spend my life doing this stuff. I'd be glad to get some of these projects off the ground, but any community-minded Pubber out there who wants to lend a hand is welcome to take the reins for any or all of these projects.
