He rises from the table gracefully, bringing his lute to his shoulder with
a careless fluidity of motion, and follows Rowan.  They thread their way
quickly through the crowd to the rear of the inn, where a narrow wooden
staircase leads up to the second floor.

Turning toward Rowan, who has stopped at the base of the stairs, he raises
one dark eyebrow and lifts his open right hand toward the stairwell and
bows slightly.  "After you, milady," he says...
