Since he was at the back of the group by the time he reaches the battle Bakr is exhausted from removing one of the bandits from the scene. Murell and Lathan are in the familiar back-to-back stance preparing to battle 4 more of the bandits. Brycur determines that this would be a good opportunity to try his bow since he is still far enough away in his charge that he will have time to drop his bow and draw his sword. 'After all' he thinks, 'how hard can it be?' He removes the bow from his pocket and presses the switch to turn it from a disk into a bow. He draws back the string and aims at one of the bandits. He lets his first arrow fly . . . . and he misses by a severe margin! 'Oops, that came closer to Murell than to the Bandit'. Luckily Murell did not seem to notice, and hopefully won't accuse Brycur of trying to kill him ;-). He quickly colapses the bow, knowing that it will probably cause more harm than good. He returns it to his pocket and draws his sword from its scabbard. He lets of a loud pseudo-war cry (he's never had any formal millitary-type experience so he really just sort-of screams at the top of his lungs). One of the bandits quickly turns around but not in time to prevent Brycur from delivering a large slash across his chest. He drops to the ground and holds onto the wound. He soon regains his composure and is able to prepare for Brycur's next pass. Brycur turns his horse quickly about, hoping to catch his victim before he manages to recover. Unfortunately his prey has stood up and is now battle-ready. He pauses for a moment to assess his opponent. He seems somewhat weary from the severe slash across his chest, his sword is at the ready as is his shield. Brycur charges again at his opponent, hoping he can take advantage of his sword length to reach out at the bandit (Brycur has a bastard-type sword, the bandit has a short sword). He rides by and slices at the bandit, causing another cut in the bandits arm and making him drop his shield. Brycur was not able to remain unscathed however, he received a cut along his right side this time. Now angerred by the fact that he has been injurred he decides to dismount and face his foe. He slides down to the ground and approaches his enemy with his sword held at the ready in front of him. They quickly engage and have a brief duel. Brycur is able to slip in a quick punch to the bandit's head that dazes him just enough for Brycur to get a full swing with his sword that severes the bandit's sword arm completely from his body (THE BLACK KNIGHT ALWAYS TRIUMPHS! - Monty Python ;-)). The Bandit falls to the ground crying in pain, he soon falls unconscious from the pain and from the bloodloss. Brycur looks around to see who remains to be slain. -Brycur the 'PISSED' Merchant Killing's My Business and Business is Good - Megadeth ************************************************************************* * "I am the Lizard King, * Peter Harper * * I can do anything! * Worcester Polytechnic Institute * * - James Douglas Morrison * Worcester, MA 01609 * * Poet * patchman@wpi.wpi.edu * * (1943-1971) * patchman@encore.wpi.edu * *************************************************************************
