All of a sudden, he was enveloped in a massive cloud of dust and everything went black! Lathan was worried at first but calmed himself down quickly. "I have been in tougher situations than this", Lathan thought. Lathan heard laughing from the direction of the bandit. Suddenly a sharp pain shot through his leg. Lathan reached down and grabbed the wound. He felt the warm blood trickle through his fingers. The heckling laughter continued. Beserk with pain, swung at the man using his techniques he had learned from many years of battle. The laughter grew louder. Lathans keen ears picked up the sound of a weapon being unsheathed from a leather case. The sound was brief but it was all he needed. He knew what was to come, so Lathan yelled out "Shirak Mirk". Lathan suddenly blended in with the trees of the forest. He put away his sword to help his effort in hiding. Through the blackness, the skilled warrior heard a grunt of confusion from the bandit. Woosh!! Something whizzed by his head. This was his chance. "Take that, elf", laughed the bandit. Lathan charged at the voice and tackled him. He smashed his fist at the mans head. Standing up he took the dazed bandit's hair and slammed his head into a tree nearby. He felt the mans body grow limp and then he dropped it onto the ground by releasing the leaders hair. Lathan ran his sword through the half dead leader, finishing him off. Lathans vision was returning now... In time to see his dead opponent, but it wasn't the leader. ------- Traenu stood in shock. Just seconds before, his second-in-command was standing at his side. He laughed and cheered every time Traenu hit the elf and now, he was dead. The elf had just charged without warning and beated his best friend to death in a rather brutal manner. "You'll pay for this you..." he hissed, the last words choaked off by pure hatred. Traenu jumped in front of the cavalier and beat him furiously with a strength and speed that came from revenge and adrenaline. Lathan could hardly believe that such a small human could posess such fury. Traenu didn't care that he would die here, like many of his band around him, or that he would never see the 500 pieces of gold that he was promised. All that mattered was that he would do as much damage as possible to this elf before he died. Love and Peace and Fury, -The Dreamer-
