Besides, the climate of any locale could be largely influenced by such things as ocean currents or volcanic activity. Not to mention which, who says the rotational axis of the planet Generica sits on is inclined with respect to the orbit around the star? Whose to say the planet is even round? It could be flat. The Gods could be wrestling to determine the weather. Fenris's land could lie near a hole in time which connects the present with the epoch of the last ice age, through which icy winds blast continuously. The mages of Rameshand could be sucking the heat away from Fenris's lands to keep Rameshand warmer.
