[ADMIN: It looks like the Bulletin Board is up and running, finally.

articles <most of which were unfortunately "useless">, and to Mike

As some of you may already know, 1Meg went into labor over the
weekend, and late last night gave birth to twin boys. Each
weighed in at 5.5 ounces and is a healthy shade of sky blue.
At 1Meg's suggestion, we are proposing a "name the twins"
contest here at the Inn. For the next week I'll be accepting
suggestions, and will announce the winner and "honorable"
mentions here on the Bulletin Board. As incentive for all
of you to participate, I'll buy a drink for each person
who submits names (one drink per customer, not per suggestion),
and the winner will receive a full course meal for two at the
_Silver Stallion_ (where the waiters are snooty but the food is
excellant).
        Note: please come to my table or to the library to give
me your suggestions (i.e. use e-mail), as there is no need to
yell out your ideas and disturb other patrons (i.e. don't post
these to APD-I)

The City of Generica is now taking applications for the position of:

        POST MASTER GENERAL  (Vacancy #00159)

Duties include:
        Receiving mail from foreign diplomats, dignitaries, and other
        gentlefolk, and posting said mail in a convenient place for all
        (literate) citizens of Generica to read.

        Receiving mail from the myriad citizens of Generica and forwarding
        said messages to the above mentioned foreigners.

        Overseeing the Guild of Couriers. This includes hiring, outfitting,
        paying wages, etc. (and buying brewskies--Cliffie)

Applicants must have:
        A reliable mailer-daemon, who can be trusted to receive and send
        messages and diplomatic pouches without eating them. And who can
        forward messages in a timely manner.

        Applicants should be fire-resistant. The Post Office has been known
        to receive the occasional letter covered in burning bitch (these
        are usually addressed to the Post Master).

[ADMIN: There exist out there in net.land, people would like to visit
Generica and interact with its citizens. These poor unfortunates lack
proper access to the Usenet and can not post directly to APD-I. What I am
looking for is someone to act as a proxy-poster (Post Master) for these
individuals. (I know of only one at the moment).

        If you are interested in performing this infrequent but valuable
service, and could proxy-post with a short turn-around and on a regular
basis, please send your "application" (name, e-mail address, etc) to "Bilbo".

WE Apologise for any time distortions in the local
area, however, due to testing of a device (Henceforward
known as 'the Thing', the local time stream has become
dislocated.

There is no danger, however some people may undergo
slight disorientation.

Some people may apparently find themselves in multiple
locations at one time.  We assure all customers that
this is not dangerous, and all time lines are in fact
continuous, and will straighten themselves out in time.

We recommend leaving early for any important appointments.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow, yesterday,
in three weeks time and in three hundred and thirty
years.

All complaints should be forwarded to:
           Imports, Exports and Arms.
