[ADMIN: Someone please post this for me...]

ADMIN: I was asked to post this for Helios, as I expect we are on the ship
now, I am posting this to the newsgroup. I hope no one else is posting this
for him, we'll have a lot of people posting the same thing.

Radan
a.k.a.: Timothy
[R] Helios on board the ship

Helios stood on the deck, relishing the feel of the rolling
waves beneath his hooves. He knew he had caused problems for his
companions, simply because he was a centaur, yet he hoped his
racial heritage would be able to aid his newfound friends later in
their journey.
He could feel the eyes of the crewmen on him, he could hear
their whispers of "What's that thing doing on board ?" and "Ship's
goin' to the dawgs....", and he could smell the tension, in some
cases the fear, in their sweat. He felt alone....yet he knew he
now had companions who would not desert him in times of need, so
long as he did the same, and he would. His race was noble right
from it's very origins, and he would not shame his heritage.
"Hey, big guy, why so glum ?"
He turned to see Radan rising from below deck.
"It's a beautiful day, we're going on an adventure, there's
lands to see and people to meet....why the down face ? You enjoyed
this in the old days...."
"Indeed, my friend, but the times have changed. I have not
yet told you, but my tribe was slaughtered by two-footer barbarians.
Since then, I've never eally felt the same about humans...especially
when I can smell the distrust, the....hatred ?...in their sweat. The
'good old days' are well and truly gone..."
	Radan was silent....
