Serene: Admin: [damn it I've forgotten exactly what she said-sorry] 
" Whats wrong William? You have sad looking eyes."

William sobs briefly as he mumbles something into his arms.u
" . . . last . . . connection . . . . . her . . .she  . . . lost"

Serene forcibly removes his head from the table." Here drink this, it
might make you feel better", she says passing him the scotch, looking
concerned after he winces, drinking it too fast.
"Whats wrong with you?"

"The ship", William answers between gulps," It was my last link to . .",
he falters slightly, " . . my last link to home, wherever that is. My 
last material link to . . . ", he stops again gulping more of the scotch
down, " . . . my last link to her." He finally finishes, breaking once
more into tears.

"To who?", Serene asks carefully, thinking, 'what is such a fragile 
character doing in a place like this?'

William raises his head slightly to look at her. "To . . . Eloise", 
he says. Clearly for the first time. "The ship was . . ", he winces 
slighltly at the memory, " but I suppose I will ahve to tell you the 
whole story."

He draws himself up in the chair to sit straight, draining the last
half of the drink quickly.

"Well, he starts . . . ."

Admin: Yes, another story. I'll start using a [W] marker to mark the
story. The theory is this will blossom out to a new thread. I hope
