He knew that they would have to dispose of the bodyguard and the dog quickly before the other guards were alerted. 'Maice, how about some help here.' Brycur muttered as he raised his sword and attacked the bodyguard. Brycur was running at the guard's back, but again the ring on his hand began to glow and he turned around to parry Brycur's attack. Caught somewhat by surprise Brycur staggered passed the guard and seemed to e have bumped into an invisible object :-). He turned quickly to face the guard who looked as though he was ready to tear Brycur to pieces. Much to Brycur's surprise his sword began to glow bluish, and there was some strange chanting coming from it. The guard paused momentarily, confused by this unusual occurence. His hesitation proved to be just long enough, as two small balls of fire shot out from the sword and hit the guard, sending him sprawling back to the floor. The guard let out a groan as he slumped to the floor. He laid there motionless for a moment but soon began to struggle to his feet. Brycur ran over to finish him off, but the guard sweeped his legs, sending him down to the floor. Both of them quickly scrambled to their feet and began circling, each one loo looking for an opening. Brycur saw that the guard had been slowed by the blast he had taken, his chest was visibly scorched and his breath was coming in short gasps. The guard looked at Brycur and quickly found a weakness. He noticed a slight limp in his right leg, the leg which he had swept out before (and coincidentally, the leg on the side with the still slightly bruised ribs). He waited until Brycur shifted his weight onto his bad leg then lunged forward, slicing into his victims abdomen. Brycur reeled back in pain. He now had an open wound on his stomach, not mortal, but still quite painful. He quickly regained his balance and turned to face the guard once again. Again the guard lunged at him, but this time Brycur was able to step to the e side and inflict a deep cut into the guard's leg. The guard let out a cry of pain and staggered away from Brycur keeping his guard up so that Brycur could not attack him. He tried to straighten himself to attack again, but when he tried to put weight on his injured leg he doubled over in pain. Before he could recover Brycur was upon him. The guard looked at the floor and saw his severed hand lying there, still clutching the sword which it had held. The guard dropped his other sword and clutched his wrist, crying out again in pain. Again the ring began to glow and he quickly wheeled around, pulling a dagger which he had concealed on his waist. He turned just in time to stick Brycur between the ribs with the dagger, as Brycur advanced to finish him. Brycur was clutching the handle of his sword, which he had rammed through the guard's stomach, pain shot through his body from the dagger which stuck into his chest. He withdrew his sword from the guard and the lifeless body slumped to the ground. 'Remove the dagger and I will heal your mounds.' Brycur heard the familiar voice of Maice; he quickly complied to this order. Again the sword glowed blue and the chanting started. Brycur's wounds closed up, but all of the pain couldn't be liberated by any spell. Realizing he would have to live with the pain, Brycur turned to see how Bakr and Luthor were fairing against the wardog. -Brycur the Injurred
