"There were other people that I knew in the bar, friends from childhood and others. Most of them I had lost touch with over the years, even though we had lived only yards away from each other. They were talking about the new building, saying it was the work of a great magician, and that this wizard had been seen around the town talking to some people asking the whereabouts of a few people. One of the people he was looking for was me. I also had a vague inkling of why, and I wasn't sure I wanted to be found. At the same time I didn't want to leave. The girl was sitting only a few yards away from me but I didn't know what to do. Couldn't think what to do, or at least couldn't persuade myself to do it. The problem was solved, by the entry of someone who could only be the wizard. Long black robes, drak but greying hair and a staff. The staff, was , . . . well it was _glowing_, though it soon became appraraent that no-one else saw this. . . .except the girl, whose attention was drawn to it as mine was. He noticed this, and started moving towards her, and I, as though some other force controlled my body for an instant, jumped to my feet and said loudly, 'I believe you were looking for me sir. I am William.' This distracted him from the girl, who had been gradully getting more and more concerned as the wizard had started towards her. The same fear, as I had felt. 'Yes', he said 'You are. Would you,' and here he turned to the girl, who cringed, 'BOTH of you, be so kind as to come with me?' It wasn't a question, it was a statement. 'Oh!', he said as an afterthought, 'And you two as well.' he pointed out, two of my childhood friends. 'This way please.', and he left the bar, and the four of us followed." William stops, and looks up startled at the strange apparition that has appeared before him. Strange clothes, strange eyes, strange . . . .well just strange. "Yes . . .?"
