Message-ID: <1992Aug17.203307.18910@rhrk.uni-kl.de> Date: Mon, 17 Aug 1992 20:33:07 GMT > A few minutes later, they arrived at their destination, the castle of >Queen Shana Tremor of Cormyr. Immediately, the alarm was sounded by the >shocked and paralysed guards of the castle. The dragonriders could see them >running about confused; some were trying to run away while others were trying >to keep them at their posts. When cries of "Alarm! Alarm!" were heard on the corridor, Bakr grabbed the bodyguard's sword and hastily entered the Throne Room, letting the door open behind him. He looked around - there was no Queen in the room, only a dozen guards standing at the wall. He was about to ask Luthor what to do when a secret door opened (secret, ha! with all those guards around) and a dark haired woman in her late forties appeared. Although middle-aged, this woman was absolutely beautiful. She moved with the grace of a cat; her frame was toned yet feminine. She was wearing a light blue enchanters rode covered with gold switching in the form of magical runes. An aura of power, authority, and cunning surrounded her. Truly this woman was royalty. Bakr tried to hide his surprise behind the vigilant mask of a bodyguard at work. "Imcrantor, go outside and ask what's happening!" "Yes, Your Highness!" Bakr ran to the main door but before he could reach it, it opened, and another guard entered, which rashly kneeled down and out of breath talked to the queen. "A blue dragon has landed with three riders on it! One of them is Prince Permus!" "Bring my brazier, QUICKLY! I must see them." Within seconds, the brass coal-burner was brought before the queen and set on its tripod in front of her throne. She mumbled some arcane words and the coals lit, quickly surrounding her in enchanted smoke. Through her minds eye, she could see the pair of intruders: Mat, the bandit and Permus, her son. ADMIN: Salamander is staying with the dragon to control it. She began casting a powerful spell...she created a gate to the underworld and cried aloud: "Myrkul, Lord of the Dead, I humbly beg that you send your servant some assistance to fight the forces of light." A shimmering portal of reddish grey opened in the air before the queen and all of the guards in the room gasped in horror. Through the portal came a nightmarish creature that was the embodiment of evil...horns and claws and fangs and spiked tail...it was a demon to be sure, but the sight of it was beyond belief...to think that it actually existed was unbearable. Bakr had had the feeling that he was at the wrong place since he had entered the castle, but now the feeling became predominant. He wanted to talk to Luthor to increase his morals but of course that was impossible now. Well, Luthor would probably just say, "The demon could have a heart attack." Bakr smiled evilly and got a surprised and appreciating look from the Queen, who had studied the reactions of the guards. The demon bowed to the queen and said, "Myrkul sends his regards," in a voice that sounded like the screams of the dying. Queen Shana pointed to one of the guards - the youngest, who was showing the most horror - and said: "You! Guide this demon outside." She added, in the direction of the demon: "You will have to fight a blue dragon. Now go, and have a good time!" The young guard with the greenish face gulped and walked to the main door, and the creature followed him. The door was opened for them, and the guard meekly told the demon, "Th...this way, sir."
