A look revealing sadness crossed his face as he saw the rest of the party slowly but surely recompose themselves --except SunStorm, who was being aided by Valgar-- from the battle. Not that he was feeling all that well himself by any means. Still, as he watched 'Raelf seemingly absorb the gargoyles, he waved Kadrys off to Vlagar. Besides, he reminded himself, he'd need to remove the medallion for any healing to work. Yet again the jewelry had proven to be both a blessing and a curse to him. It seemed to take more effort than usual to remove. Lancos pondered on this, then blamed it on the feeling of having 'Raelf's strength spell wearing off now that its usefulness was over. And after removing the neckwear, Lancos felt weaker still. By this time Kadrys had come, and bandaged the head wound of Lancos. >Kadrys" "You certainly came the best out of your duel with the gargoyles' > leader...". Lancos held back a fit of laughter, mainly to prevent more blood from his stomach. He certainly didn't FEEL like someone who could say "You should have seen the OTHER guy", as if he would anyways. Kadrys scanned Lancos --particularly the still unbandaged stomach-- with concern. Lancos tried to put on his best "I'm still 100%" face, although he knew there would be no conviction behind it until he received healing and some time off his feet. Then 'Raelf began his mysterious work on SunStorm. + Lancos began to feel uneasy. [ADMIN: BEGAN?] 'Raelf's speech, while so familiar that it carried the same accent Lancos had lost through many years of travel, was strangely disorientating. The pain that had been racking his mind was growing worse. +The sense of deja-vu worsened into a sense of complete dissociation. A deep part of Lancos' mind rebelled against the increased pressure put upon it, which helped him handle the feeling. Nevertheless, Lancos was glad to see the end of the process, for SunStorm's (and/or ShockWave's) sake if not his own. He had felt a strange urge to put the medallion back on during the ordeal. Lancos knew of no healing effects linked to it, and had usually felt better off without it on. Perhaps he just needed rest... + 'Raelf turned back to Lancos who was pale and shaking. Incipient shock. + Some blood loss. He touched the wounds, concentrated, FLICK-FLICK, and the + man in green was suddenly whole. Lancos thanked 'Raelf, who shrugged it off and moved to Valgar. While 'Raelf had removed all traces of physical wounds, the mage did not --COULD not, really-- do much for his mental ones. It was his own problem anyways, to be solved only by the whims of time. +ShockWave: "Tell me how giants eat food. I'm new at this." Only the earlier success in preventing laughter aided Lancos in doing so THIS time. "Don't worry --we'll see what we can do. Personally, I'LL never let a man I consider like a brother --something you ALL qualify for-- die of something 'small' like starvation [ADMIN: Besides, someone just DID that :-)!] !" + "Serene. Food for four!" Having seen 'Raelf's appetite previously, and guessing that ShockWave would overstuff Sunstorm through pure inexperience, Lancos hoped four portions would be ENOUGH, but kept quiet. He didn't feel all that hungry anyways... Alita watched the group enter the Inn. All four men --even the one who had somehow turned himself into a bat-- held interest for her, in more ways than one. THe easy part of gaining anything from these adventurers --and she felt they owed her after making her lose that sword-- would be to enter the Inn. After that, she'd just have to trust her luck ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Sander 344lwkc@cmuvm.csv.cmich.edu AKA Lancos Erredan
