Sure, he had fought dragons, and once a minion of tiamat, but a full fledged demon?!? The dragon looked up at the hellish flier as well. Salamander felt the d dragon's imense hatred. LET'S KILL he felt the dragon say. Salamander felt the dragon's fight against the control deminish. "Ok," Salamander said, barely more that a whisper passed his lips. The demon looked down at the two, pitiful mortals. The dragon was barely worth consideration, but the human was nothing. DIE!!! the demon commanded of the dragon. Bolt felt his life force start to ebb, then come back. The demon wasn't as powerful here as the demon had thought. Bolt retuned the attack with a blast of lightning. To bolt's satisfaction, the demon screamed in pain and anger, but the bolt did nothing more that burn a little of the being's flesh. Salamander, realizing he was in for a rough flight, braced himself as the dragon took off after the demon. Bolt realized his folly as he cleared the trees. Being slow to rise, he could do nothing as the demon swooped to his hind quarters to attack. Bolt lashed out with a scaly arm and ripped the demon's leg, but the demon pressed on, attacking the dragon's back. The demon hadn't thought Salamander a threat until he felt a stab of pain in his side. Salamander stood (his feet 'glued' to the dragon's back by a spell) with his longsword in hand. The blade glowed purple, pleased to have bitten into evil flesh. "Come, friend, let's play." Salamander didn't understand why he said that, he only knew that it would piss the demon off. The demon swung with an arm, and Salamander ducked. Sal lashed out again with the sword, striking the demon's leg. With a grunt, the demon took off from the dragon's back. Salamander felt good about fighting off a demon from a dragon's back. Well, he did for a moment. Satisfied that he was far enough away, the demon let loose a fireball at the dragon and its rider and, with great satisfaction, watched it explode. The dragon plumeted to the ground, and the rider was nowhere to be seen. even before the dragon hit, the demon dove after it, wanting to be sure it was dead. As Salamander sailed to the earth in great pain, he remebered the ring he kept on a chain around his neck. With great effort, he slipped it on his finger, floated to the ground, and passed out. Bolt knew that the ground was coming up, but he was occupied by the demon diving at him. He played dead until the demon was in reach, then snapped with his great jaws, catching the demon in them. Bolt let loose another breath, and both dragon and demon dissappeared in a energetic explosion. AH, MY CHILD, Bolt heard in his mind's eye, YOU HAVE COME HOME TO ME... the five pairs of eyes in the darkness were very comforting to Bolt, and he slept....
