[ADMIN: Welcome again to the Dragon's Inn Bulletin Board! The BB (as I
abbr. it) is mainly used for announcements from a "character" to the
group, but just send me stuff if you're worried about what might be
"proper". Additions, comments, corrections, etc. are MORE than welcome.]

--- POSTMASTER GENERAL VACANCY WITHDRAWN ---

Due to a lack of applicants, the position of Post-Master General for
Generica has remained vacant for well over a month. The truly amazing
thing is that NO ONE HAS NOTICED. The post office has run quite
smoothly without a PMG (mostly due to a seasonal lack of mail).

Ergo, the vacancy has been withdrawn. If in the future the city of
Generica has need for a PMG, I will come out of retirement to help out.

<ed: In other words, Mike is currently helping any and all people without
posting abilities --as evidenced by his 14 straight posts recently.>

The Generican Post Office would also like to announce that we have two
new mail-handlers: Bit & Byte, the 1Meg twins. They have just completed
the exhaustive 30 minute training session, and are now working in the
receiving department. In just one day they have set a new record for
accurately sorting mail: 63%

Content:

WE apologise for any time distortions in the local
area, however, due to testing of a device (Henceforward
known as 'The Thing'), the local timestream has become
dislocated.

There is no danger, however some people may undergo
slight disorientation.

Some people may apparently find themselves in multiple
locations at one time. We assure customers that
this is not dangerous, and all time lines are in fact
continuous, and will straighten themselves out in time.

We recomment leaving early for any important appointments.

Normal service will be restored tomorrow, yesterday,
in three weeks' time and in three hundred and thirty
years.

All complaints should be forwarded to:
           Imports, Exports, and Arms.

<ed: Actually, complaints should go to Listener, who will "play" them out
of you. This has proven to be too valuable an excuse, IMHO.>

We thank you for your consideration.

                    - HELP WANTED -
                    ===============

<ed: Below stuff is from my memory --I lost {:-(!} the original copy>
    FOR: Post Master General (Postion # 86'ed <good enough> )

Duties include:
Receiving mail from foreign dignitaries and placing it on an
    appropriate place.

Relaying mail to the forementioned dignitaries from the
    local citizens if necessary.

Overseeing the Guild of Couriers and its activites, which include
paying the Couriers, determining any mail charges or changes, and
    buying brewskies for Cliffie {:-)!}.
<ed: Back to Bilbo's stuff now...>

Applicants must have:
A reliable mailer-daemon, who can be trusted to receive and send messages
and diplomatic pouches without eating them, and who can forward messages
    in a timely manner.

Applicants should be fire-resistant. The Post Office has been known to
receive the occasional letter covered in burning pitch (these are
usually addressed to the Post Master).

Please send all applications to the retiring Post Master at:
       af140@yfn.ysu.edu (Bilbo "Mail-Bag" Baggins)

[ADMIN: There exist out there in net.land, people who would like to visit
Generica and interact with its citizens. These poor unfortunates lack
proper access to the Usenet and can not post directly to APD-I. What I am
looking for is someone to act as a proxy-poster (Post Master) for these
individuals. (I know of only one at the moment)

If you are interested in performing this infrequent but valuable
service, and could proxy-post with a short turn-around and on a regular
basis, please send your "application" (name, e-mail address, etc) to "Bilbo".
Note: the Post Office is NOT affiliated with the Dragon's Inn Bulletin Board.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all for now --see you again next Friday (I hope!)
