Garriot looks around solemnly at the assembled company.  "I thank you all for 
your aid thus far, but I have no right to ask you to accompany me on this quest.
I will be travelling into potentially great danger for possibly little or no
reward, other than to rescue or avenge people who I can barely remember. But
if you are willing to join me, I would be glad of your companionship, for in
truth, I fear that I stand little chance against..."(Garriot's face clouds over
and goes distant again). "Thornn was the most powerful among us...if anyone
could find a way to escape, he could...we were wounded, all of us, we couldn't
save him..." His countenance clears and he looks around, dazedly.  "Did it 
happen again?"
