"Aye, I can read it well enough."

"Well, then it is a good thing Dusk is outside. I'll just contact him and...
wait a minute. The bird fell asleep! No doubt traveling with Khisanth about
now. Hmmm.... Now comes the tricky part. Coming up with a way to....!"

The Drow looks around the room, seeing what could be used. Bed, no. Can't
chance disturbing the dream sleep. How could I forget that the bird LOVES
to adventure on the mindscape?! Damn avian should have bonded to a psychic.
Dresser, washbasin, pitcher.....hello!

The elf takes the basin and the pitcher of water and sets them before Kyleen.
He then pours some water into the basin, and starts to chant. Reaching into
the sash around his waist, he pulls out a fine green powder and sprinkles it
onto the surface of the water.

A view of the door to their room appears. There is Dusk, sleeping soundly on
his comfortable perch. "Just checking," he explains, "to see if the spell
works and if the raven's safe."

The view shifts to the common room of the inn, its many tables, corners,
occupants, hooded/cloaked patrons, etc.

"Which one is Mardan?" the dark elf inquires, still conversing in elvish to
make life a little easier for Kyleen.

"Optimistic fellow, though. Violence _may_ follow the dark elf? Anyway,
just speak into the wash basin. The three of us should be able to communicate.

"Oh, and could you ask him to guard Dusk? I mean, if anything should happen
to the little fella..."
