Subject: [L] What Has Gone Before...Total Quest Summary

     Luthor Anside, last member of the adventuring band "Children of the Blue
Star", came to Generica to escape Queen Shana Tremor of Cormyr (Forgotten
Realms).  Once, she was a good queen, but a magical brazier turned her mad
and evil.
     Before Luthor found out about the change, the queen had Luthor's son
Joshua killed and then blamed the attack on Jarrad the Just, Ruler of the
High Forest.  Wanting revenge, Luthor and the Children of the Blue Star
attacked Jarrad's stronghold.  Everyone was killed except Luthor, but including
his wife Rachel.  After returning to Cormyr, the Queen sent her men after
Luthor directly and he escaped to Generica through the Forgotten Realms/Nexus
portal.
     Murell Darkmane, son of Jarrad the Just, saught out the queen after
finding that his father had been killed.  She sent Murell to kill Luthor
blaming him for Murell's father's death.
     Murell arrived in Generica a few days after Luthor and when the time
was right, he tried to kill Luthor by shooting him full of silver arrows.
Luthor used his magic (based on manipulating probability) to break Murell's
bow thus disarming him.  Murell escaped and Luthor fell to the floor bleeding
to death.  With his last bit of energy, he sent a dream message to Brycur
(another patron of the Dragon's Inn) who then saved his life.
     Having nothing better to do, Murell decided to join Luthor's team so he
could get close to his intended target.
     The infamous Generican Riots broke out in the Low City and Luthor, Brycur,
and Murell went outside to save the inn.  In the aftermath, Murell noticed that
Luthor bandaged the wounded peasants and began to wonder if Luthor was really
evil.
     Luthor decided to go after the Queen and gathered some people together:
himself, Murell, and Brycur,
Bakr, the apprentice mage,
Salamander, the kick-ass mage, and
Lathan, the cavalier
     They journeyed to the portal to the Realms and fought some bandits on the
way.  In the treasure, they found a ring that Sal kept for study.
     Near the portal, they were attacked by a huge Blue dragon named Bolt.
He nearly killed the entire party, but was brought under control by the ring
which turned out to be a ring of dragon control that the blue dragon had been
trying to destroy.  The only casualty was Lathan who was stuck inside Luthor's
extra-dimensional cloak (don't ask, it's an even longer story).
     The gang went through the portal and met up with:
Permus, the exiled Prince of Cormyr,
Erik, Luthor's mentor, and
Mat, one of the bandits who had been following the group
     Together, they plotted the overthrow of the queen.
     Bakr, Brycur, and Luthor snuck into the castle.
     The others landed near it on the dragon and all but Salamander entered.
     There was a big fight scene and in the end, all of the heroes survived
except Murell and Luthor killed the queen with one of the arrows that Murell
had shot at him when the thread began.

     MEANWHILE, Sharella the Half-Doppleganger and expert assassin was sent
after Luthor.  She went to the Dragons Inn disguised as Helen the Grey, a
golden elf fighter.  There, she joined forces with Firecat the Gnome/Fire Tiger
and they went chasing after Luthor.  On their way, they ran into some orcs,
a wild boar, and Jabu, a travelling mage/healer type.
     Together, they crossed into the Forgotten Realms and crossed the desert
where they were attacked by a sandworm.  Jabu blew up the sandworm and saved
the day :-).  The group continued out of the desert, but were attacked and
captured by a tribe of lizardmen.

     Luthor and company, on their way back to the portal, ran across the
captives and decided to rescue them.
     Luthor and Bakr snuck into the camp with Bakr disguised as a lizardman.
Sal readied his wand of fireballs, and Brycur decided to cover their escape
with his new magical bow.
     At the appointed signal (Luthor blowing up the head of the lizardman
idol), all hell broke loose and eventually, everyone got to safety.
     The entire group travelled back through the desert, through the portal,
and within sight of Generica.  At this point, they decided to race home and
Luthor won (by teleporting...i.e. cheating :-)
     Right now, the quest has been neatly wrapped up and we will see what
happens to the Questors next...


     This summary lacks all of the nuances that made writing it fun and I have
even left out quite a few things.  Keep in mind that it took us a whole Summer
to get this far.
