Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn From: jng53092@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Jon Gad) Subject: [blade] At the Inn: You did WHAT? Message-ID: Date: Sat, 10 Oct 1992 22:48:05 GMT "You GAVE Blade to Trawn? Art thou insane? All someone need do is scuff one of those runes, and all those within that Inn are doomed!" Needless to say, Sir Tyrone is a little upset. "Mayhap thou does not understand exactly how powerful Blade is. Look here." Grasping his Great Sword by its bright green hilt, the Wererabbit freed the glowing orange blade. "This sword is the greatest creation of the Rabbit-Smiths of Lagopolis. The legends tell of it slaying entire packs of wolves and of locating enough roots and vegetables to feed a clan for years. And though I have not yet matched the prowess of those legends, I have slain a Dragon or three, and I did help lead the army that stormed the Lich-King's Fortress, and it was this very sword that destroyed that evil undead mage. But don't let me bore you with my small endeavors, clearly the weilders of The Great Sword of Rabbitkind in the past accomplished far greater deeds than I. I do not boast when I tell you this, I am simply attempting to show that this is a weapon of great power. But look at this." And Tyrone pointed to the single notch rent in the orange blade. "THIS occured when I struck Blade. This sword which stole the life of the Red Dragon Pyreflame, that smashed the Lich-King's phylactery, that the legends say was used by the great Rabbit Hero FarLeaper to slay the dire wolf Bunnybane, THIS sword managed only to place the tiniest of cracks in Blade's skin. And at the cost of the first damage to the sword in a hundred lifetimes. And a creature so fearsome, so single-minded in its thirst for blood, and so very indestructable is what you have released upon the world. May Mielikki the Lady of Forests and Protector of Rabbits have mercy on us all." And with a sigh, he thrust the sword back into its scabbard. Yup, Wererabbit or not, Sir Tyrone still TALKS like a Paladin.... Jon Gad (jng53092@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu) * Sir Tyrone the Longwinded *
