Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn Subject: New NPC Group... Message-ID: <92287.155206ASG102@psuvm.psu.edu> From: ASG102@psuvm.psu.edu Date: 13 Oct 92 19:52:06 GMT The Rabble: This group of rather rude humans is always in the inn. They are the ones that fall silent when a strange new character enters the inn. They are also the ones who become impressed by some minor magic, take interest in a general announcement, stare at a lovely lady parton, and make rude comments (which the others of The Rabble laugh at loudly). The purpose of The Rabble is to fill out the atmosphere of the inn and to have someone to react to the PC's actions like the PC's want them to. Examples of use: 1: > E'karam walked through the doors of the Dragons Inn and for a moment, > everyone (The Rabble) paused in their talking. 2: > "I was about to post this note offering my services and wondered if you could > help me come up with an appropriate description. I was going to write: > 'The only Halfling in the bar', but that could change some time soon. Then > I thought of: 'The Halfling in the bar who has a purple moustache', but that > should wear off any day now." He said indicating his tenticles. > > Someone at a table within range of this conversation yelled out, "Why don't > you write 'The Crazy Mind Flayer'" Which was followed by a roar of laughter > from that (The Rabble's) table. E'Karam looked alittle hurt by the comment. We are already using them in our posts, I just thought we should name them. Oh...I forgot to mention: The Rabble's size can grow or shrink, but you can never kill them all off no matter how hard you try. They are just replaced by equally rude and simple people from Generica's masses. Love and Peace and The Huddled Masses, -The Dreamer-
