Unless the main group is moderated, then it's rare that discussion is kept to the .d subgroup. People will >still< do non-story postings here. And we will encounter resistance to creating Yet Another group, even an alt. group. So I vote against the idea. There's really not that much ADMIN posting. We have about six quasi-weekly posts, maybe more, because the Character Summaries has swollen recently, and Tourist's Guide is on the verge of doing that, too. However, in the Charter, it says specifically not to worry about doing large numbers of posts. (Actually, I do think that the Thread Summaries could be done as fewer posts. They don't really need to done in three or four posts as Pete has been doing them. Hint, hint.) Anyway, I don't think it is a problem. You could killfile ADMIN if you figured out how on your newsreader, or just 'n' past them. Another possibility, I guess, is to put >all< of the regular postings on news.answers, where they could be eternally accessible, but just ask Jeremy Nelson how much progress he has made on fixing the FAQ headers to do that. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If we start getting a 2:1 ratio of ADMIN to story postings, then I'll worry. The problem isn't anywhere near that severe. -- ---Alfvaen(Canadian SF Quasi-Activist) "If your breasts are too big, you will fall over.
