Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn Subject: ADMIN: Gangs of Generica Message-ID: <1992Oct16.025852.16883@kakwa.ucs.ualberta.ca> From: aaron@space.ualberta.ca (Aaron Humphrey) Date: Fri, 16 Oct 1992 02:58:52 GMT Just to contribute to the mass of ADMIN postings...here's what I have so far for the Gangs of the Low City and elsewhere in Generica. Some of it it pretty sketchy, and Noctu will be trying his best to modify it until all of them say Leader: XXX, Demon Spider infiltrator. ;-} I've deleted all the attributions, i.e. whose gang is which, but I think the only ones that should be Hands Off the Dark Blades, for Morgan Broman, and the Demon Spiders, for myself. The unspecified ones, in particular, are fair game--but send me the description if you come up with anything. (Pete, feel free to add any personages below to the Directory--or don't, unless you see them being used. Up to you.) Will this be a regular posting? Maybe--depends on the demand. Your vote counts. Anyway, the listing: Alley Creepers Symbol: a cockroach Leader: Chicele, human, Demon Spider infiltrator Others: Black Dharzin, dwarven thief, wanted by the Guard + 2 halflings, 11 humans This is a team of thieves. They don't do killings, but will retreive "lost" items for a fee. They are highly skilled professionals. Black Bullies. Symbol: a fair-sized black square Leader: "Bully-Boy", drow; ally of Demon Spiders Dress entirely in black and thus prefer to work the darker yet somewhat richer parts of Low City. Bully-boy's identity as a drow is not generally known. Chaos Creating Crew. Symbol: 3 C's of different sizes, within each other This racially mixed, basically leaderless group lives up to its name from the destruction they cause. Dark Blades Symbol: their darkened blades Races: 2 drow 3 haflings 15 mixed humans This gang is basically a team of thugs/assassins. All blades carried by the members are blackened so they won't shine in the dark alleys of Generica...They will hire themselves for assassinations. They are a mixture of stealth and "brute squad". (Morgan, send me a more complete listing. I don't seem to have one.) Dark Corner Gang. (Somebody--Rigler, perhaps?--has the description of these guys. Somebody send me a copy.) Demon Spiders Symbol: black eight-armed "spider" symbol Leader: Noctu, a.k.a. Prince Naleril of Desleval--drow Others: Shatoc--Noctu's lieutenant, human Clivia--New recruit, former Stiletto + others, and several infiltrators The Demon Spiders once merely affected the sign of the Demon Spider. When Noctu, exiled prince of the Underwurlde, took them over, though, he turned them to active worship of Lolth. He is more daring than many gang leaders, wishing nothing more than to regain his position in the Underwurlde, through regaining the favour of Lolth and creating a foothold in the Overwurlde. His current plan is to take over all of the gangs of Low City by infiltrating them with Demon Spiders. Elf Scalpers Symbol: lock of hair Leader: Ugluk, half-orc Let's just say these guys don't like elves at all. There are several half-orcs, including the leader, Ugluk. Currently they and the Trigolet Clan are warring with Golden Violence and Norad's Pummelers. Flame Brands Symbol: upper right arm branded in flame shape Golden Violence Symbol: gold coin Little is known of Golden Violence, but this gang is composed mainly of elves. Despite their name they are fairly humane--they will kill quickly. (It is also unknown where they get the golden coins they leave with their kills.) Grunge Symbol: lots and lots of dirt and grunge Le Roy Boyz Symbol: affected symbols of royalty Leader: 'The Kink' A group of youths claiming to be royalty in the Low city. They favor purple in their cloaks and ermine at the collars. The group is headed by 'the Kink' -- he siezed power when he forced the former Kink to abdicate with the 'crown'---of his head. They are too tight-knit a group to kill each other without cause, so the former Kink is presently a Nearl... Night Martens: Symbol: spiked collar Leader: Hot Seccho, large young half-ogre Others: Bethor Rinch, half-drow, ally of Demon Spiders Hyac Zuggsudz, half-orc Muys Badds, human Whurgo Finkum, human Fifti Meahodds, human Thilu Fish, human + several orc-dogs A big gang occupying a large part of the Low City, south of the Scrappy Ram. Their boss is Hot Seccho, a large young half-ogre, and the others are mostly human, though there is a half-drow, Bethor Rinch, and a half-orc, Hyac Zuggsudz. The human members are Muys Badds, Whurgo Finkum, Fifti Meahodds, and Thilu Fish, and they have some orcdogs to help them in their actions. All members, as well as their dogs, wear a spiked ring around the neck. Norad's Pummelers. Symbol: imprint of a fist Leader: Norad, elf Others: Norad(son of Norad), elf Norad is the last name of the Elven family that has ruled this gang --due to their fighting, thievery, and occasionally magic skills-- since its beginning. Opal Kings Symbol: shining jewel(sometimes even authentic) Shadow Falcons: Leader: Santo Yonkuhn, former novice priest of Trulfar Others: Guby Zulkims, follower of Santo Fett Coss Meg Berfes, Santo's moll They have a sort of moral code; they don't kill their victims until it's *really* necessary. This is because of the personality of their charismatic leader, Santo Yonkuhn, who once was a novice priest of Trulfar, a fertility goddess. He has been thrown out of the temple for stealing. Guby Zulkims is his most devoted follower, the others are Fett Coss and Meg Berfes, Santo's moll. They are all humans in the late teens, and their district is close to the South Gate, which means that they often have to fight the Night Martens. Shunrunners: (Pending Clinton Wolf's description...) Stiletto Symbol: a stiletto This gang's membership is exclusively female, and their preferred weapon is (what else)the stiletto. They were originally formed as a band of Low City women who were tired of being mistaken for streetwalkers, and adopted a unified approach to their self-defense. Some of them are former prostitutes, and Yirma is an especial enemy of theirs. The Trigolet Clan: Members: Boar Trigolet Bear Trigolet Ox Trigolet Mule Trigolet Gustafi Kruzaxl Boar, Bear, Ox, and Mule Trigolet, four brothers whose father came from Ydoine after killing one person too many (a baronet), and their brother-in-law, Gustafi Kruzaxl, who is from Pappheymknaff, an orc-infested country northeast of Vascondy, in the Mysty Mountains. The brothers all earn their names with their looks, and Gustafi is a brute with a square chin. They earn their money west of the Spitting Cobra, and they *really* don't like elves other than dead ones. 'Unnel Chuz: Symbol: odor, as well as T-croc "souvenirs" Spend a lot of time down in the sewers, hunting T-crocs or being hunted by T-crocs. As part of their initiation, they spend three days by themselves in the sewers. Usually notable by their distinctively puissant odor.
