The young drow gives Meshtak a tight grin then steps forward past Trawm. As she nears the arena where Blade and the stone elemental are fighting, she begins moving her hands in strange patterns, leaving the glowing runes behind to slowly wrap around her. The crown begins to give way without appearing to see her or even notice that they have moved. Before long she reaches the edge of the arena an steps over the binding runes. A strange distortion of the air accompanies her crossing. She turns to the first of the runes and reaches for the knives in her boots. First she pulls out the two dark hilted knives and holds them away from her body to either side. Meshtak and the others can see her lips moving as she chants something. After a moment she releases the two long bladed daggers and they hang suspended, almost invisible lines of force connecting them to the circle of runes. Quickly she turns and makes several passes in Blade's direction and he stops moving around even though he is still hammering away at the quickly weakening earth elemental. She hesitates for a moment and then smiles a bit. Almost negligently she makes another series of hand passes and the earth elemental begins to grow and heal. Strangly enough it appears to have been changed to another form of rock for it is now faster and more resistant to Blade's attacks. She turns and smiles sweetly at Trawm. With that smile on her face she turns back to the silver rune. She pulls out the knife given to her at the Dragon's Inn and begins to make passes over both objects with her hand. After a moment or two she begins to carve smaller runes into the silver rune, with sections of smaller runes joining together to reveal larger runes. The entire process takes but a few moments, but the painstakingness of the labor makes it seem longer. She then straightens and moves to the next rune, her floating daggers following her. Before she begins she looks over at the fight and sees that Blade is getting the worst end of the deal by far. She frowns for a second and makes a few passes with both hands. Blade immediately flys away from a powerful blow of the elemental and the fight resumes in earnest. Curiously enough, while the combat roams all over the arena it never nears the spot where the young drow is working. After going about halfway around the circle she notices that the elemental is losing again. She definately appears vexed as she turns toward the pair, with a few passes of her hands she weaves a strange spell. The next time Blade strikes the elemental his weapon sticks for a moment, as if magnetized. Knowing the Trawm must be getting upset at her constant interference (he's foaming at the mouth by this time), she hurries to complete her work. It does not take much longer. As she finishes the last of the runes, the crowd collectively takes a step back away from them, again without concious thought. Slowly she slides the knives back into their proper sheaths and climbs out of the pit. Lines of fatigue can be seen on her face, and the crowd does not seem to give way as easily as they had done before. She finally reaches the group of people from the Dragon's Inn and leans on the arm of the first person she can. Almost as an afterthought she releases her hold on Blade and the strangely modified elemental. She looks at the group and quietly says, "They will hold now." Then she turns to Trawm and says, with the most haughty expression imaginable, "You are fortunate indeed, *sir*, that I had the proper materials to fix your *blunder*. I do not believe that we will press charges, but a warning *will* be filed with the proper authorities." Under her breath to Meshtak, "Let us leave quickly, before he realizes that there are no City Rune Inspectors!"
