My other news feed seems to want to cut off my posts at 80 lines. :( This Week in Review -=-=-=-=- Dragon's Inn and Newcomers Review: -=-=-=-=- Lots of new stuff seems to be starting as old stuff winds down. New patrons, welcome, and hope you have fun here. I caution you to read the FAQ to maximize playing pleasure for all concerned. I should also have a mini-FAQ ready some time next week (fingers crossed) that will hopefully ease some pain for newbies too. -=-=-=-=- The E.L.F. delivery service rolls in, and uses Generica's peculiar time distortion properties to its own benefits. Nice work guys! Doc Pan and others seem to have had some misfortune, and it looks like something to do with the meteor that crashed just north of the City. Now Lady Prill is dying, the Doc is missing, and the sunken city of Dwelf looks like rising again. There are a few others who I'm not going to chronicle now that they've found their feet and are happily chugging along, however, some of the newcomers that bear mention include: +obadu, enters the Inn and waits for a response. The Squiichar post a message requesting Big Ones help, then leave. Hey! any directions of how to get there? and does it pay? :^) Oh vey, Amchiak must've heard. He's back again. Indigo, Ixy and the Drow seeress exchange pleasantries, which is perhaps a feature of Inn, or could it be a feature of the patrons. Makes a packet of mixed nuts look boring ;) Magebane, the necromancer enters with retinue, which piques a quip from Arcadio. Max enters the bar,chats with Rowan like an old friend,then goes for a wander about Generica,recording as he does so. Percival the Mage, Vascondian exile and wanderer, recounts his travels through the Hall of the Dwarrow-King and beyond in the form of journal entries. Looks like new-comer is interested in Moriarity Investigations, as he takes the note off the Bulletin Board while Littlefair gets some stew. -=-=-=-=- submitted reviews to follow -=-=-=-=- ********************************************************************* [blade] from the pen of Danny Reinker The rag-tag band of heroes finally managed to drop Blade in the ocean. However, as they were going to celebrate, a merman appeared angry at them for dropping Blade in his home turf, and revealed that he had brought Blade back and put him in the Spitting Cobra. This resulted in an increase in Trawm's business. Meanwhile, Hendrix the Motherspawn, disappointed in Blade's failure, moves on to phase two of his plan. He attacks a group of guardsmen and transforms them all into dangerous psychotic mutates. He then tracks down the little boy Mechatack and starts his training as a servant of Mother. Unbeknownst to him, however, Chip the Thrikreen witnessed everything and told the Dragon's Inn patrons about it. The result was a split of the group, with thus far Farnham, Chip and Sir Tyrone going to fight the mutations, and Meshtak, Arcadio, Arcadio's friend, and a drow woman going to Trawm's to talk to Blade. ********************************************************************* [ST] sent in by Jorma Pesonen Shrouded One and Kirkil have been changing stories in the inn, while strange tent has gathered people to a war in the city. As others are more concerned about Blade and dark lady, bursts young girl into the Inn to claim, that her brother has been kidnapped in the tent. Story tells, that no one has returned from the tent... ********************************************************************* [TW] as written by Jorma Pesonen Three Twentlan came into the Inn to leave a note about a war in the south. Swamp Monsters are destroying Great Forest and Elhantor are eating this small folk. A while ago Amachiak, the leader of the three came back and is crying and shouting for help... Either no-one is hearing his little voice, or then he is too small to be noticed... The note is on the board for those interrested in a small rescue mission to the war zone... ********************************************************************* [L] The Dreamer Last week, Luthor and Serene toured the city and saw many of its wonders. They also learned that there is political tension rising in Ramshan and Luthor met his old bodyguard at the palace. After Returning to the inn, Luthor gave Serene a winter rose which would live as long as he did (he used his 'magic'). Meanwhile, on the darker side of the [L] thread, Helen changed form into that of a human male called Draaken Rasp. Draaken wrote a note to Luthor proposing that they meet to discuss a business proposition. Upon receiving the note, Luthor agreed to the meeting. This week, Luthor left the inn to talk to Draaken in the Arcade of Unforgotten Heroes. Helen (as Draaken), introduced himself, but made a few mistakes which Luthor picked up. He was beginning to become wary of Draaken when a Low City gang attacked. Luthor, realizing that he could not escape, teleported to the top of the Dragons Inn to get help. From there, he saw that Draaken was running the gang and he got rather miffed. Draaken and Luthor squared off in the Plaza of Glittering Steel and while circling, they tried to read each others' minds causing ESP feedback. Draaken PSI-Blasted Luthor which then bounced back to her, then to him again, etc... until they both fell unconscious. Meanwhile, on the Purple side of the [L] thread, E'Karam left his table and walked out into the Plaza during the psionic combat. It reminded him of his past and how he "became" a Halfling. Then he came out of the trance, supressed the memory of his origin, and took Draaken/Helen up to his room to rest. ********************************************************************* [T&R] sent in by Steven Cavanagh The party of assasins from Ak'lssh's elite guard have tracked our movements after destroying the harem and all its occupants. First contact was made by the Shadow Drake, who was slain. The main party is now moving up to attack (it's being written-the whole battle in Christian's next posting and it's LONG). ********************************************************************* [MI] described by Alfvaen When last we saw them, Alfvaen had brazened his way into Yirma's brothel in the guise of a rich slummer named Lushrike, with Queriche as his bodyguard and Delmara as his tart for the night. Little Rat was about to sneak in the back entrance in search of Elstree, and Batobo the imp was also in search of her. Noctu had taken her to the Shrine of Lolth down in the Gaps, where he planned to sacrifice both her and Alfvaen. To lure Alfvaen there, he left a token of Elstree's in Yirma's. Little Rat, coming in the back entrance, happened upon a guard stoned on Joystix and another dallying with one of Yirma's girls. Rat stepped on a rusty nail, and her squeak of pain was heard by the guard, who went out to try to kill her. She climbed up a pile of crates in a nearby room, but was discovered when blood drips on the guard's neck. She scampered past the guard and up the stairs before he caught her. She screamed for Alfvaen, who came to her rescue with a thrown dagger, abandoning his drunken pretense. Little Rat mentioned that she saw a token of Aditi's, like the one Delmara wore, in the room downstairs, which could only have belonged to Elstree. Alfvaen put a knife to Yirma's throat and threatened her with Batobo, and she said that the Demon Spiders had indeed brought Elstree in, but they'd left with her a little while ago. While recovering the token from the downstairs room, Queriche noted that the crates seemed to have been moved recently, and they discovered a trapdoor behind them leading down to the Gaps. Leaving an unconscious Yirma behind, they descended. At the bottom, Batobo discovered a trail of perfume, and they set out to follow it... They followed it for some time through the Gaps, eventually reaching a blank wall. Alfvaen discovered a secret door, and opened it with a knock spell. Further on, they heard voices, and Alfvaen sent Batobo ahead to reconnoiter surreptitiously. Noctu sensed Batobo's presence, but did nothing. The two guards posted, Sangudo and Clivia, didn't even notice. Delmara, less than accustomed to the stealthy approach, stumbled and dislodged a brick with an audible noise. When Sangudo came to investigate, however, all he found was Little Rat, who was pretending to be a child lost in the Gaps with a sprained ankle. Then she slashed Sangudo's face open with a knife, and his scream of pain is ended by Alfvaen's dagger to the throat. Clivia puts up a bit more of a fight, but is knocked unconscious by the butt of Queriche's spear. Alfvaen investigates the entrance to the shrine, and Lassiviren informs him that it's unlikely to be warded. So, they prepare to enter... Will Alfvaen escape the fiendish trap Noctu has laid for him? Have they reached the Shrine to Lolth in time to rescue Elstree? What does Noctu plan to do after he takes over the Low City? What's Clivia's Comeliness? Isn't Sangudo a little town north of Edmonton? You're just making this up as you go along, aren't you? How do you spell Alfaven? Now that the scene is set and the players have taken up their marks, the battle royale commences. But can even the mighty Kron Questers survive this ordeal. Thk doesn't think so and tries to commit suicide, but even that is denied. When it is life and death, madness and sanity, and no escape is possible. This beeing done, though Verden has sent a message to MI about Karl and his mission to [R] Rameshan. After mission compleat the team splits up. The brothers return back to report, Teela goes to the Dragon Inn and Trace to the Net & Trident. On his way back from N&T Trace discovers that he is followed. He takes out one of his two shadows and makes a brief questioning of the other before letting him die. The information he gets he returns to Draoi with. Draoi confirms the facts with Shaheera a Drow Priestess. She also tells Draoi about a powerful presence behind the Demon Spiders....
