It asked him if he would undertake a contract to ensure that there we no unfortunate repercussions from the Rameshander mage Amaan's visit to Generica, such as those which would arise from his electing to remain in Generica rather than return to Rameshan, and especially anything which might cause an international incident and thus disrupt trade. After some thought, he decided that this didn't interfere with the contract from the Mage Guild that instructed them to make sure that Amaan's visit to Generica was not disrupted by Archmage Thorn or his associates. In fact, both could be done at once. Of course, the Arcas wasn't due to arrive for a few days yet, last he had heard. If some incident happened before Amaan arrived in Generica, then there was nothing he could do about it, could he? It would void the contract, since it would become impossible to accomplish it, but hopefully Verden wouldn't hold that against him, and perhaps they could be of service to each other again. There was a knock upon the door. Good thing I stayed here, he thought, instead of gallivanting about in the night like all the rest. First Verden's messenger, and now this, whatever it is. It might be an assassin, or some kind of thug, but this is a peculiar place to decide to rob...still, he picked up a little magical gewgaw that might give him an advantage.
