Brent walked again into the Dragon's Inn. The last period had seemed to
flash by for him, the last thing he seemed to remember being waiting for
the two newcomers to respond [ADMIN: That's because it WAS the last thing].
But this was Generica, where time shifts were almost as common as
breathing.

Besides, that wasn't the focus right now --he had been asked to meet
Garriot. Perhaps he would leave today, or at least find out where the
group was headed.

But first he'd peruse the Inn a bit --might as well enjoy a bit of what
passed as free time. He noticed the Inn's denizens now included a female
dark elf and some form of creature in a tank to add to the various
creatures of the inn (and the [Blade] threaders aren't even present!) and
once table had disappeared. This caused no panicky reaction, though --
this was the Dragon's Inn, where reported the temporary destruction of the
universe had gone on relatively unnoticed (but that's another story).

The next stop was the ever-changing Bulletin Board:
[ADMIN: Well, ONE of my characters might as well keep an eye on it!]
One intriguing item was the note by Sgt. Thorpe. Brent thought of
tearing the note down --Sgt. Thorpe had an overextensive view of what
monsters were, in his opinion-- until he saw the feeble reward. The
rest of the board contained various advertisements, including one for
a scout. But there were probably too many thieves in this group already,
and besides, he couldn't know the danger of the mission.

He headed upstairs, and gained admittance from Garriot.
Brent: "So, what's up today?"

Garriot: "Just wanted to collect on that offer to take us to the
Cartographer's Guild. First help me rouse the others, though, would you?"

Brent nodded, and complied. He noticed that the man he'd seen at the door
yesterday [ADMIN: Kraska, forced to leave due to circumstances beyond his
control] wasn't here, but another tall, dark-haired man was, near
Khisanth.

The party slowly arose, and dressed.

"What, no breakfast today", Zebron said, smiling.

Brent: "I'd hoped Garriot was buying, since he 'summoned' me."

Zebron: "Hmmm. What's the plan, then?"

Brent: "Just taking you to the Cartographers' Guild, that's all. And
perhaps finally learning the destination", adding the last with a
smirk of his own.

[ADMIN: Thanks to Belinda aka Khisanth for the below]
"That won't be necessary" Khisanth replied, restepping into the room. She
was dressed for journeying, and her gear hinted at the existence of books
and weapons.

Indicating the stranger by her side, she say "This is Alaric, my mate.
He will be accompanying us." Alaric makes the acquaintance of all
involved. He is well-armoured, and carries both a large sword and a
longbow. His eyes and frame mark him as part elven.

"I wandered around town a bit last night, and we came up with this",
Khisanth says, producing a large scrool. On it is a map of the outlaying
lands. Alaric points to a mountain ridge some distance from the city.
"Here is Hawkesholme..."

The map is written in Elvish, and seems to take Khisanth much longer than
the others to figure out where everything else is.
