That night, from the last trickle of amber from the west, to the first slash of gold from the east, the dead shall hold sway over the Realm. They are free to walk and stretch their bones, and to do as they wish. All manner of ghouls and ghosts come pouring out of the Gates of the Netherworld, searching for solace and sometimes, much, much more. So do not be alone that night, traveller. Seek other companions in which to spend the evening, and gather together in a tight circle, and tell tales of the dead to turn your skin, and stories of those sleepless to shiver your bones. For by doing so you show the dead respect, which pleases them very much. They will come to your gathering, peering into the circle, and smile knowingly amongst themselves at the tales. Aye. Down there they KNOW who that ghoul who haunted Mrs Kirla was, and the were who ate up the Innkeeper of the Silver Wyvern. Hell, the ghoulie that you're talking about MIGHT just be right there, laughing to himself and licking his lips as he listens and recalls... And so in your storytelling the dead know joy, for they know they are respected, and when you're in torment in eternity and don't have anything else, a bad reputation may be better than nothing.... ==> Ok. So what better way to dispel the ghosts than having such a storytelling session at the Inn? Every tale teller gets a drink from Littlefair, and maybe we can make a competition out of it, though I don't know who'd do the judging. Stories can be posted from next Tuesday ( Oct 27th ) onwards, to the following Tuesday. ( Nov 3rd ) ( This is so everyone gets the "time flow" correct. ) If we are making it a competition, winner is dubbed the Lord Of The Night, and gets to drink as much as he can for the night. So bring your candles, and your stories. ( Original, please... ) Come to the Inn, take a seat, and if you see or hear anything, don't worry, you're amongst friends, even if they're only here just for a while....
