Message-ID: <1992Oct24.015125.25422@cheshire.oxy.edu> Date: Sat, 24 Oct 1992 01:51:25 GMT In his secret place, a small well furnished room in another realm, connected to Generica through a portal that only Hendrix possesses, Hendrix watches the happenings in Generica through a plethora of magic mirrors. Mechatack is in another room of the place, a room Hendrix calls the 'Game Room.' Mechatack is playing a game, fighting off a bunch of unliving doll-like things called Mungos. Mechatack fights happily, thinking it all a game Hendrix has given him to keep him amused. However, Hendrix lied to him twice, the first time telling him that the Mungos were not alive; they were in fact alive, and in fact were the dominant creatures of this realm. The second lie was that it was a game; no, the mungos would kill Mechatack if they could. However, they probably could not, and at any rate it was a good way to train Mechatack. Hendrix is very disturbed at what he sees. His plan had been simple, and a standard one. If a group seemed too close to discovering Mother, then it was standard procedure to create a 'distraction' quest. The purpose of such a quest was to distract the 'heroes' by providing them with other things to do, and afterwards, they usually forgot about Mother. And often, a number of them would perish in the quest, leaving less for Mother to worry about. However, it was not working for this current group. They were apparently more powerful and resourceful than Hendrix had realized, and more people kept joining onto the group...which was counterproductive to Hendrix's plan. All which was very frustrating for Hendrix. Right now, as he stared into the mirror, Chip was leading the others right to Rot, and Hendrix couldn't figure out exactly how he knew where to find the mutated human. Yet, they headed right that way. Hendrix needed a distraction quest that would keep the group occupied for awhile. As he watched, he strained his mind for a good idea. And behind him, Mechatack joyfully killed another mungo. Hendrix the Spawn -- "You can't help that.
