I disarmed another ogre and ran him through.  Out of the corner
of my eye, I saw the stone window- just a hole in the wall, really.
I looked at the ogres that kept pouring into the room, one after
another, like some demented convention had just ben called and
our room held the free buffet.  I looked at the window.  I could
only see sky beyond it.
I broke and ran.  It wasn't hard.  I had a lot of practice.
I pushed myself through the window, hung by the ledge, and then
dropped.  I hit the ground running, wiping the blood from my knife
on my hankerchief.  I resheathed it and dived headlong into a shallow
trench.  I looked cautiously up at the window.  Nothing happened.

I felt a tap on my shoulder.
