Indigo, having finished off the immense amount of roasted whale set
before him, was just about to explain about the incredible metabolism of the
merfolk and how using his powerful psionic talents physically drains him,
these two facts combining to answer why he is able to eat such huge portions
of food. But before he could open his mouth, he saw Moria attempting to
psionically awaken the small squirrel rider.
The merman sat back, confident in the skills of his student.
	Something was wrong.
Indigo forced his eyes to glaze over, to use the psi-sight that was
his birthright.
Looking around, Indigo saw the power that was Moria, and the void that
was Ixnaphior. Examining this latter form closely, the merman knew that the
story the fellow had told about locking his thoughts to others and about the
powers of his ring.
He then turned his attention to the figures on the table, and was
surprised at the strength of the furrier one. However, the one without a tail
was sucking up the latent psi-energies like a sponge.
	Indigo's eyes refocused.
Looking at Moria, he gave her his best 'let me handle this' look, and
turned to the furry creature.
"You have worked hard enough. Allow me."
The merman quickly took over the squirrel's job, allowing the animal
a chance to rest. There is resistance at first, but the animal soon realizes
that not only are the merman's intentions honorable, he has the skills and
power to accomplish the deed.
Indigo then girded himself and began to block the influx of psi-enegy
that was assaulting the other creature. With the skill and power at his
disposal, this did not prove to be much of a problem.
Hopefully, his efforts would bring an end to the creatures agony.
