[Watch, as Jak attempts to iron out a sticky combat situation]

[Khisanth has just cast strange magics at the ambushers, leaving her weak,
nauseous, and seeing double. Khisanth thinks she sees:

>>Kyleen has started tending to Garriot's wound, and Khisanth runs toward her
>>stunned mate to pull him out of the way.
>>
>>Zebron has since joined the fray, as have Brent, Mardan, Philippe, and Simon
>>After tending to her mate, Khisanth steps off into the woods, and those
>>close by hear retching sounds.

[but really sees a lone figure aiding Garriot, and the others joining battle.
What really happens is as follows:]

Zebron looks at Kyleen, and sees the elf in a new light. Her eyes have glazed
over in a battle lust, showing a ferocity the drow has not seen in a long time.
Kyleen draws her bow and takes a bead on the first brigand.

Zebron leaps off his new steed, Onyx, and rushes to the fallen Garriot. The
dark elf knew that his friend had been poisoned, and forced a vial of some
sickly brown liquid down his ally's throat. The drow had no access to spells
of healing, but had more than enough experience with poisoned blades that he
was prepared.

One of the bandits lunged at Zebron, and the drow felt fire course through his
arm. However, the poison is quickly burnt out of his system, thanks to a
mage the dark elf met on another world that sold him a charm against toxins.
The drow stood and turned to see two of his foes facing him, standing mouths
agape in disbelief that the elf had not been affected by the deadly serum.

Realizing that, quick as he was, the elf could probably not draw both swords
without opening himself up to attack, the drow simply raised his arms in mock
surrender, using the movement to spread his cloak, allowing Garriot to recover.

>Garriot staggers to his feet, draws his sword, and leaps into the battle.
>Despite his wound, it is clear that he is an extremely skilled fighter,
>and two of the would-be assassins are forced to fall back before his
>onslaught.
>They are so intent on avoiding his blows that they fail to see Brent behind
>them...

Not that their sightless eyes could, as the both of them fell forwards, arrows
protruding from their backs. The assembly of friends looked up to see that
all of the foes that Khisanth had not taken care of had fallen to Kyleen's
arrows.

Zebron looked at the corpses, as Dusk, now that the battle was over, flew in
lazy circles as he descended to Zebron's shoulder. The drow looked at the
arrows, and how they all hit vital areas. Any one was a kill...and each
corpse had four or five arrows in it. The dark elf looked up at Kyleen and
smiled weakly, not knowing what to make of this new development.
